Best antenna on the market, but due to installation complexity, plan accordingly.
This antenna is top of the line, it should be installed with rubber gloves donned and preferably by a professional, with labor price no more than $1200 if possible. quite a bit of advanced diy planning is necessary to get this working at all, particularly if incorporating the rotator, roof clamp, masts, guy wire, amplifier, and power line (not included). Without being able to draw this up, the configuration is too complicated to explain. The instructions will only suggest how these all might go together. It should be illegal, IMHO, for any free standing home to be without an antenna as they are SO difficult to plan and reverse engineer to suit the house at a later time. And, they will always be useful. Folks, not enough room for a complete review, but I will just say, please don't steal these or take them with you when you move, common courtesy beats the crap out of zoning variances and other legal maneuvering. Also, since local governments typically stand up for the interests of cable companies and not homeowners, there's a good chance they will run power lines as close as possible to your house to prevent antenna mounting on the rooftop as you are almost certain to get electrocuted given that a safe distance is 55 feet in all directions, even assuming the earth grounding setup has been done correctly. I will be happy to answer questions as they come. I strongly recommend this antenna, but proceed with caution.

6 Channels from a little over 100 Miles. Very happy with the perfomance!!!
Living right at 100 miles from the closest city with television channels I was hessitant to switch to antenna and really wasn't sure if it would work out or not. But was really tired of paying the dish company so much a month and mostly only using local channels. I purchased this antenna and the RCA booster. It was easy to install and I was able to use existing cable I had from my dish network to distribute the signal thru my house to different TVs. Long story short I was able to recieve every channel broadcasting from there with a little adjusting of the antenna and the heighth. This along with my Smart TV, I can now watch local channels and other movies and programs off the web. All in all it is money well spent.

I'd look for another alternative. Reception is not the best and assembly/mounting is difficult.
It is a bit unwieldy, since it is not assembled. The assembly requires they elements be extended prior to final assembly. That pretty much means you have to do the assembly on the roof. The tolerances are a bit tight to be done on a roof. It is possible to get this antenna assembled and mounted, but it is MUCH more difficult than the Radio Shack archer series, like the VU-210. In addition, this antenna does not have as good a reception as the Archer counterpart. I would also add this antenna is not well balanced. Once mounted on a pole, the "back" of the antenna (the end with the largest elements) tends to droop significantly. So, what would be a suitable roof mount will require another section of mast to prevent the elements from sagging below your roof line. When I replaced my Archer array (which got damaged by falling limbs), I went from flawless reception of 30+ channels to around a dozen. It works, and gets MOST of the local channels, but I am still missing channels I used to get with my old array. Still, for the price, it works well. However, given the much higher level of difficulty in assembling and mounting, I'd advise steering clear of this antenna. Sorry to say that, RCA.

Bigger does not always mean better...in the antenna world.
I feel like I know what I'm talking about when it comes to antennas. I have tested several and have sent most back to the store or to Amazon. I am currently using a ClearStream 4. I was in search of even more channels than I have with the Clear Stream, but I think I am maxed out at 37, and I am ok with that. This RCA antenna was HUGE to say the least, and I didn't get anything more than what I had. I will stick with my nice, small antenna.

Excellent antenna, might be the best $150 I ever spent.
We had been going back and forth from DirecTV to Dish for over 10 years and then decided to stop the cycle altogether. I had been using an Amazon-brand indoor amplified antenna and my TV signal was adequate. After about 6 months with it, I decided to make things "permanent" and started researching outdoor units.I ended up purchasing this one, along with the RCA TVPRAMP1R Preamplifier for Outdoor Antenna Performance Enhancement & Extension (use with ANT3038XR & ANT3036XR), Black and cannot be more happy. I get stations more than 75 miles away and my local stations, which are about 45 miles away, come one bar from having maximum signal strength.I mounted my unit to the side of the house, using the J pole that my Dish Network dish used. It clears the roof by about 4 feet so it's not more than 20 feet in the air, with some large trees directly in the LOS, and yet I get great signal as I mentioned above.

A good antenna
this antenna shipped and was at my house way before I had planned, which was a good thing. The instructions weren't great on how to put it together, but I finally figured it out. Product works well, but I did wish it would pick up a little better. I'm going to try a booster to help with the issues I'm having. All in all a good product.

Strong antenna
I get very high wind at my house and I didn't think this antenna would last long. I've had it for a couple of years now and no problems with it. One rod broke off after a couple of months but it didn't seem to degrade the reception at all and the rest of it has been holding up strong.

I am getting great reception. It is very big though
I was very skeptical about whether or not this would work. I have tried many different things in the past but with this antenna paired with the RCA preamp, I have gone from 5 channels to about 25 channels. I am able to cancel the dish and save a ton of money. I live about 17 miles from one tower and about 60 miles from the next set with heavy trees in my backyard and mountains between me and the towers. I am getting great reception. It is very big though.
