This reminds me of 2 major brands' premium moisture control soils. The bag I got through was perhaps even better though because it did not contain any sticks or larger twigs at all. It is fine, but it holds moisture very well. It is excellent for starting seeds in.Other than a tray of seeds, I used this bag to fill a very large vertical garden cloth with 16 pockets. I put begonia and basil in it. They didn't suffer any transplant problems at all and just took off growing. This works well in the cloth growing bags.

Please be aware this is not a substitute for potting soil or garden soil. It feels kind of like peat moss with nutrients added. It is intended to be put in the bottom third of the pot to provide drainage and nutrients. I used it as top filler in a pot that was low on soil and it does not hold moisture. The drain dish was filled with water but this material on the top was dry to touch. So be aware that you are getting a product intended to create nutrients and drainage at the bottom of the pot, not provide soil.For outdoors, it would be a great addition to poorly draining, compacted soil--I've got a lot of that. So I will be using the rest of my bag to enrich and lighten the soil in my beds.

I repotted some neon pothos cuttings that I had been propagating in water, along with a Chinese evergreen that needed a bigger pot with this Amaze potting mix. I amended the mix with a bit of perlite for extra drainage, and I’m happy to report that the plants are doing great. This potting mix comes in a generous 16 qt bag, and should last me several months. I appreciate that it has plant food in it, so I don’t have to worry about it for a while. It’s very comparable to Miracle-Gro. This is good for easy going houseplants that aren’t too picky. But because all of my plants don’t like wet feet, I amended with perlite and I think everyone should too to help with drainage. I still prefer to buy organic potting mix for the herbs I’m growing, but I would recommend this Amaze potting mix for non-edible houseplants.

The media could not be loaded. I like it straight out of the bag. It's light, airy, very few large pieces of anything. Mostly I'm impressed that it was perfectly dry to the touch, so the weight is based on the soil itself and not water weight (the last bag of brand name potting soil was as wet as mud and had many, many, large chuncks of wood/mulch type items so it was time to switch).I used about 3/4's of the bag to fill a large bowl planter. I planted patchouli and if something bad happens I'll come back and edit this review. But so far I like it batter then MiracleGro's.

We have our entire deck covered with cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, basil, cilantro, lettuce and radishes. There's not much room left to sit at the table. We used a lot of soil this spring/summer! It was nice to find a new brand on the market for our container soil needs. The cost of soil really adds up, so this is a good alternative to the super expensive brands. It was free of mold, insects or any large pieces of wood - all issues with even the most expensive soil that we've purchased. The vegetables did well, so we have no complaints. This is comparable to others on the market. With the excessive watering we do in the summers, we do add some food after several months. We do that no matter what soil we use. This soil is worth adding to your list.

This potting mix came in a bag of 16 quart. It is made such that it rescues the plant against over watering or under watering. I have lot of vegetable and flowering container plants in my patio that I have started right from seeds. I used this potting mix to replant my young saplings into bigger pots. This potting blend has all the essential nutrients required for steady plant growth. Although the instructions say that this mix feeds for up to 6 months, I prefer to use organic fertilizer every fortnight on top of the soil for better yields.

This AMAZE 74078770 MOIST-SURE POTTING MIX (for All Container Plants) is quite similar to Miracle-Gro Potting Mix, and should produce similar growing results. The difference between “potting mix” and “potting soil” is that “potting mix” is soil-less. I use the two types of planting mix interchangeably, and get good results with both.Soil-less potting mix is particularly good for container plants, because ingredients like sphagnum moss help to retain water. In homes, the air is usually quite dry, so that plants dry out quickly. A house plant can be damp on top, when the planting medium is actually dried out underneath in the area of the roots.With potting mix, the “soil” retains water more evenly. The plants don’t need quite so frequent watering, and they require less attention generally.The other good thing about potting mix, is that it usually contains fertilizer. You don’t have to buy extra fertilizer--at least not right away--so that your house plants have everything they need (except water) for several months.

This potting mix soil was great! This is soil with fertilizer added so make sure your plants can tolerate that prior to planting; it's a light fertilizer, but still worth noting. I really liked how fine and lightweight this soil felt. I used it in for repotting some plants and to help amend some clay soil before planting some flowers. Certainly no complaints, and I would possibly purchase again, depending on price/value (at time of this review, there is no price listed.)
