Not very solid, or waterproof, but worth the $
1)The O-ring that seals the battery compartment is super flimsy and pops out while screwing cap back on so it's not truly waterproof.2)AA's mean empty space in the tube, and it rattles a bit; this lack of sturdy, solid weight does not inspire the kind of confidence those baton-like Maglites do when investigating those things that go bump in the night.3)The LED is variable, but you have to run through the cycle to adjust (2nd click dims, 3rd strobes), and the 1st click burns unbearably bright... literally too bright to read anything you're holding at arms length. My points are design flaws that could mean 2 or 3 stars, except 1) I, like most people, don't take mine swimming or hours walking through pouring rain. 2)Flashlights aren't supposed to be weapons, cops use Maglites because they're the only company that reliably built that extra use in, so... it's not fair to judge others by this standard. 3)A separate dim/strobe selector is just something else to break and when I took it camping, the instant blinding light was comforting when animals got near the campsite. Use a head lamp for reading instead. All in all, we'll worth the money if a stunningly bright light is your goal. The strobe is so intense it can actually make you nauseous when used in the dark.

THE best flashlight I've ever owned!
I do a lot of deliveries at night in the suburbs and rural areas. I shine this flashlight from inside my car (with the window down) and I can see the house numbers with ease! I've never seen a flashlight this bright before. The wonders of LED technology, eh?And the manufacturer probably doesn't want us to say this, but this flashlight also doubles a great self-defense weapon. If someone (or some THING) comes at you in the dark, just shine this in their eyes and they'll be blinded. I've had to do this on stray dogs a few times and it works. Plus the flashlight itself is heavy duty and dense so if you have to whack someone with it, it'll be like using a lead pipe (well maybe not that heavy).

Big heavy light
I like the heft of it. It's big and heavy. I walk our 12-pound dog Henry at night in a place that has hungry bobcats and coyotes and pesky skunks and raccoons. I like to spot them before we are on top of them. And if need be, the light is heavy enough to use as a weapon. Down side, not enough battery power. It really needs bigger batteries that last longer.

SUPER BRIGHT!!!
The is a superb flashlight. Albeit it arrived with a scuff on the lower cap, it did not deter me, as I have special black plastic coat paint that solved the blemish!!! At 600 lumens, I cannot complain about the brightness! SUPER BRIGHT!!!

Solid and Bright but Some Cons
The pros of this light are that it has a quality housing, is large and hefty and does give a very bright light. The cons are that despite the size it is powered by only six AA batteries. It is likely that it would not last that long on the bright setting before needing new batteries. The batteries it came with were also almost dead. When I changed them out the light was much brighter. It also does not have a variable beam as the other Lux Pro flashlights do.

Very Bright
The flashlight works very well. One thing to be aware of is that it is big. I thought it was smaller like a pocket flashlight. It is my fault for not reading the size.
