My new favorite
Very solid and thick aluminum construction. Feels more sturdy than most other mechanical pencils, without being too heavy.I personally like the way the weight is balanced and how it feels to hold for lots of writing.

Very nice pencils, some of the best.
Some of the best mech pencils you can get.

Mechanical problem
It was working fine till i changed to new lead. I don't know where it’s stuck inside but the new lead won’t come out. Any ideas?

Nice!
I own a lot of different mechanical pencils, but this pencil is my favorite. It is short, fat, well balanced, and just feels good in the hand.

Pencil was “used” even though I bought new
Solid pencil. I can tell it used as the eraser is rubbed and dark in areas. Also the eraser cap is so loose it just falls off. Could be better

Interesting, Comfortable, and Reliable
TL;DR (Too long; didn’t read)-Very smooth writing experience-Full metal construction (save the lead tube)-Somewhat short and stubby-Excellent, out of the way clip-Very different and artsy-Not too heavy, not too light (21.2 grams)-Holds a ton of lead-Writes quietly (no scratchy noises)-Removable clip-Reliable mechanismNow, for those of you who want to know all the details, read on.I have many mechanical pencils--such as the Rotring Rapid Pro, Pentel Sharp Kerry, Staedtler 925-35-05, and the Alvin Draft-Matic to name a choice few--but I would say that the Platinum Pro Use II is probably my favorite. It's an oddball, for sure, but it works so beautifully. I am an engineering student, so of course, I use pencils, and I use them a whole lot. Anyways, here's my review:(Just a side note/disclaimer, two things annoy me about some pencils. Number one: the noise. If a pencil is loud and/or scratchy sounding, chances are, I will not like it. Second: unfriendly clips. What I mean by this is that some pencils have clips that will sort of jab into the meaty part of my hand between my thumb and index finger while rotating or moving the pencil. However, this pencil avoids both of these issues. It is rather quiet while writing, and the clip is slightly recessed so it never gets in the way. It's great, now onto the review.)-FunctionalityThis pencil has provided me with one of the smoothest writing experiences I have ever had. This is a drafting style pencil, in that the lead sleeve is 4 mm long and doesn't show a hint of wobble. Completely solid, with no issues. The mechanism has a satisfactory click, of which I am quite fond of. In almost a year of use, it only jammed once. The mechanism uses about 4.5-5 cm of a 6 cm standard lead, which I think is very good. 10 clicks of the mechanism will get you about 7 mm of lead (for comparison, the Pentel P205 gives about 6 mm for 10 clicks). The feel of this pencil is what really sets it apart. The finish on this pencil is strange: smooth, yet slightly grippy. I don't know what type of finish it is, but it feels and looks very interesting; I really enjoy it. The grip is also strange, with several slight smooth edges almost resembling some wide cups stacked inside each other (just look at the picture, my attempt at describing it might make sense after). This grip can be a little slippery, but it is really pleasant to use. The balance is ever so slightly towards the tip. The clip works well, and is quite "springy." It is not spring loaded though. Overall, it feels great, and works superbly well.-BuildThe pencil is 129 mm long and the grip is just about 11 mm in diameter, which may seem short and stubby, but I find the length perfect and the grip very comfortable. According to Platinum's website, its weight is 21.2 grams and the body of the pencil is made out of aluminum. Everything on the outside-- from the cap to the tip--consists of metal (whether or not all of it is aluminum, I do not know) but the clip and tip (part with lead indicator) vary slightly in texture compared to the rest of it. The only plastic part is the lead tube. The lead sleeve is of very long and presumably fragile, so dropping it could very well break it. The clip is fastened between the body and a top piece that screws onto the body, keeping the clip very stable, yet removable. The clutch is, of course, brass. This pencil is built incredibly well.-FeaturesThere is not much in this department, but there are a few. It has a lead indicator which is engraved with lead hardness ratings ranging from 3H to 3B (including F). You highlight the lead hardness by unscrewing the tip, and rotating the little colored ring (also made of metal) to indicate the proper hardness. It's not the easiest to use, but it serves its purpose fine. The clip is removable, but I don't really see a point in removing it as it does not get in the way at all. The eraser is pretty standard for a drafting eraser, slightly smaller than a P205 eraser. To be honest, I probably used the eraser once or twice, maybe. Just get a block eraser like a Staedtler Mars Plastic or, a Pentel Dust Gathering Eraser (found on JetPens). The tip is not retractable, and there's no lead cushioning feature to avoid breakage like with the rOtring Rapid Pro for example. However, the lead rarely breaks for me, so that is not much of an issue. This is not a feature packed pencil, but it functions almost perfectly.-ProblemsI have had only a few problems with this pencil. First, the cap of the pencil became very loose quickly. To fix this, I simply used some pliers to bend the part of the cap that grasps onto the lead chamber very slightly, so as to almost form an oval. The other problem--which really isn't a problem for me--is that the lettering on the cap that indicates the lead size is wearing off. This is probably my fault due to spinning the pencil between my index finger and my paper with the cap pivoting on the paper (this is quite fun). However, if you put your pencils in a cup and need to easily identify different lead sizes, you might want to be a bit careful with the cap. Just one more miniscule problem for good measure: the print on the body is just painted on, so if you throw this in a pencil case, I could see it wearing off over time. It has held up very well for me though. As you can see, I have barely had any real functionality problems with this pencil that weren’t fixable. This is probably way more info than you wanted to know, but I just wanted to be thorough. This pencil is great, and I really recommend it if you want something interesting, comfortable, and reliable. I've attached some photos to perhaps help see the pencil better. Also, if you're not a fan of big grips (I thought I wasn't, until I got this one), then check out the Platinum Pro Use I, it is the predecessor to this pencil, and actually the pencil that made me want to buy the Pro Use II. If you want to know more about this pencil's predecessor, check out Clutch Situation's review of the Platinum Pro Use I (just search Platinum Pro Use I review on YouTube).Happy writing!Caleb

Great mechanical pencil thank you! mech pencil feels great in hand.
The media could not be loaded. I will use it for sketching. It seems sturdy enough that I had my hands full and it slipped and fell to the floor landing sideways from what I noticed and it was still intact. The metal that covers the eraser slips off a bit easily where it would be nice if it connected better because it's one of the nicest I own. It's everything I need for comfortable to hold and the metal feels solid enough even though up where you hold the grip is can unscrew but you can easily tighten it. And as for the metal end that covers the eraser all I did was put it in a mini zip lock packet and stored it with my other supplies so I won't be dropping it regularly until I find a way to get it to hold tighter. But overall I am very very happy with this. I would buy it again anytime. As far as I'm concerned very exceptional craftmanship. Thank you makers for this perfect instrument. And I received in relatively decent timing given the state of the virus closing most businesses and possibly slowing mail.
