Dr. Cool Recovery-On-The-Go wraps are the first product to combine ice and compression in one flexible fabric wrap. Dr. Cool wraps provide 360 degrees of cold compression in support the R.I.C.E. principles (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) combining ice therapy and compression to reduce pain, swelling, and speed recovery. Can also be used as a dry compression wrap to support and protect various body parts during activity.

Better experience after my first impression
I could not figure out what I was doing incorrectly and thought my freezer temperature was not proper for this flexible fabric wrap; but, after much research (I tried contacting Dr. Cool and the company it is Sold By on Amazon for instructions or advise to no avail) I found out that it's not stated on the Amazon information details nor on the Dr. Cool's website details that the minimum freezer time of 20 minutes ONLY applies if this product is folded, not rolled.This is an important distinction because if placed in the freezer rolled it takes 45 minutes to freeze, more than twice the 20 minutes advertised. If you followed the instructions on Dr. Cool's website details for this product: "Roll the wrap back up and place in freezer for at least 20 minutes." and took it out at the 20 minute mark you would get a product that is not yet flash frozen, that quickly thaws, and begins to drip. I found the missing folded versus rolled information in the "How-To Prepare Your Dr. Cool Recovery-On-The-Go Wrap Video" created by Dr. Cool.In addition I hung my Dr. Cool Ice therapy wrap to dry and it stayed wet for over 12 hours which was not in the least bit ideal when wanting to just use it as a compression wrap as I did not want to get my clothes damp.************UPDATE**************After my third attempt I was able to get ahold of Dr. Cool not by email but by Facebook, they appreciated knowing that their email system was bouncing back my emails and that they would look into updating the "roll" versus "fold" instructions. They also advised me to only wet the back of my wrap till it darkens and to lit any remaining water drip off to prevent the excess water from dripping when thawed, this will also allow it to dry quicker after use. After researching other wraps it all came back to this one because of the innovative patented fabric Dr. Cool uses that allows me to use this for ice therapy without worrying about busting a gel back and the ease of use and convenience of being able to use it anywhere on my body since I have multiple injuries to my legs. This is my go to wrap now albeit my first impression.

Pretty Good - a few tips!
The wrap itself is really good. I bought one because per doctor's orders I should ice 5 times a day and I can't stop working for 20 minutes to ice it.A few tips: 1) it will freeze in 20 minutes, but not if you roll it. I just fold in half and put in the freezer. 2) Do not put it on your bare skin! For me, it was extremely uncomfortable, even left my arm pretty red. I found an old sock and cut off the foot and used it as a sleeve under the wrap. Not only did it save my skin, the wrap actually stays cold longer I noticed. Without the sleeve - 15 minutes max, with the sleeve I got the full 20 minutes I needed. 3) do not underestimate the length! I bought the small for my elbow because I thought the medium was too long. Now I really wish I had bought the longer one. While I am getting the benefit and it is still working for me, the longer one would have allowed me to wrap more of the area now that my pain is spreading to the forearm.Overall, a pretty good product and accomplishes what I need it to.

Doesn't stay cold long
I first thought this was a gel wrap like so many others we have. When I opened the box and unrolled it I saw that it did not have gel in it. I put it in the freezer until I needed it. I have one of my headaches today and I put this wrap around my head; it's been about 10 minutes and it's already unfrozen and now just wet.It would make a better compression wrap than cool wrap, with or without being in the freezer. I have the medium size and it's 50" long and 4" wide. It's stretchy and this size would even go around my back. The Velcro on the end works really well. It even has a hole on one end to hang it.This is a different type of cooling/compression therapy than I'm use to. Personally I prefer something with a gel that stays cold longer, but then again if you have an injury that needs to be compressed with ice this would work (just won't stay cold long). It comes in a bunch of bright colors (I received the green) so you can look good while you're wrapped up. :-) 3 1/2 stars{Sample provided for review}

good but too much $$
Bought 2 of these and returned them because Big Lots Was had them for $4 and mine cost $12 a piece. I do like the one I got from Big Lots though. 4 stars is because you have to plan in advance to use it rather than just keeping it in the freezer to use at any time. If you leave it in the freezer longer than the recommended time, its stiff an unusable until it thaws which is annoying.

Terrible product
Don't waste your time with this product. The thing feels nice right out of the package, but the next step is to wet the fabric and place it in the freezer. Then you take it out and wrap the desired area. Since you are using water on fabric, the wrap freezes stiff and solid, making it nearly impossible to wrap tightly until it thaws a little, and if you do try to wrap it immediately out of the freezer, you will experience serious discomfort because the wrap is simply too cold for skin contact. It is like holding a big ice cube directly on your skin. Just awful. Not only is it difficult to apply and too cold to use at first, but the fabric is so thin that it doesn't maintain a worth while coldness for more than about 5 minutes. To sum up the typical Dr. Cool wrap experience, you get 20 minutes of freezing, then one minute of frostbite level coldness, followed by 4-5 minutes of what is essentially a wet towel. Not "cool" at all. Get a gel cold pack instead, this thing is garbage.

Best Ever for My Needs
Here's my unsolicited review of Dr. Cool. For my needs they are the very best I've ever had. I am a 60 year old man with arthritis in both knees. Even had one scoped a while back. Dr Cool allows me to adjust exactly how tight to wrap my knees and they stay in place. I can now hike and play golf with confidence. Yes, you can also put them in the freezer then use them, but I rarely do that. They are also easily washable. Great product!
