Great little kettle for motorcycle camping
Pros:- Very sturdy stainless-steel construction.- Just the right size for a mug of coffee and either a bowl of oatmeal or a Mountain House meal. Note that actual volume when filling to the bottom of the spout is about 27 oz (800 ml); 1 quart (32 oz) is the total volume. - I love that the 4.6-in wide mouth is big enough to allow my CAMPINGMOON remote-cannister gas stove to nest inside the kettle, and the kettle nests inside my MSI Bugaboo Camper cookware (with the cup/bowls removed).- Smooth drip-free pouring.- No melty bits, so it can be used on an open fire.- Cute factor is through the roof. I chuckled a little when I first unpacked it.Cons:- The bare metal handle gets hot, so I use a tiny silicone potholder to keep from burning my fingers.- The lid is not held in place by friction, so be careful it does not fall on your hand when tilting the kettle to get out the last bit of water.- Backpackers might chose a lighter kettle.

great pot
I love this pot. Yes, you do need to be a bit careful when pouring that you don't tip it too far and the lid comes off, but really, you don't need to worry about it too much.It is so nice and light, it fits well in our small travel trailer.I am very pleased with it.

Excellent kettle!
We recently started getting away from our old aluminum cook gear and I wasn't impressed with my friend's titanium gear (expensive, little weight savings, poor long term performance) so I started looking for lightweight stainless steel products. This fit the bill for both backpacking and camping. It weighs a fraction more than titanium, infinitely stronger and more durable and it's just the perfect size. We used it for afternoon tea (one pot was enough for 3 adults) while on the trail chilly days and in camp it's just right for making enough hot water to make drinks without having to use the big pots.It heats up fast enough that a second pot will be ready faster than making one big pot of hot water.Keep in mind it's a kettle, not a tea pot. You won't get the whistle when it's boiling (someone had asked that so I figured I'd throw it out there).Overall, you can't beat this pot. Happy trails!

No wire bail handle.
I bought this hoping for an accurate representation of the product. My version was made with a thin strip of metal and not the wire bail which is disappointing. It works great and is made tough but, the handle I feel is going to be the one point where at some point in the future it's going to fail. Hope it lasts.Update 12/23: it is still a nice piece of equipment. Noticed some rust spots here and there but, I believe it is more from the minerals in the water. It has been sitting out in the camper for a full month and that may have something to do with it. I would recommend this for someone who makes a small meal camping or if you want to make up a quick pot of water for a cereal or soup bowl. Moving my review to 4 starts

Really only .8 Liters.
I like this kettle. I love how durable it is, and it pours really well. It's only about .8 liters instead of the 1 liter advertised because the spout sits slightly below the 1 liter point. However it is small, light, and it is pretty awesome for what it is. If you need a kettle that won't rust and is for you alone, this is it.0

Wonderful kettle, very thoughtfully designed
This is a great kettle for all the reasons other reviewers have pointed out, but it's also really great because I can use it to drink water comfortably from while lying down on one side, when I feel too exhausted to be able to sit upright. It's a really thoughtfully design in regards to the handle, the spout, the lightweightness, the kind of steel and thickness, and overall durability; everything about this little kettle is just really thoughtfully designed.

Cool little kettle
Holds enough water for two mugs, heats fast, no drip pour, cools fast so you can dry it and put it away. I'm using it at home right now but will use it next camping trip.

Outstanding Kettle
This is a great kettle. Well built, well designed, and durable. I've used mine for several years and, while it shows use, its as functional as when new. One of the best points is that it pours extremely smoothly due to the spout design. It pours so nicely sometimes my wife prefers it to the house stovetop kettle. Can't go wrong with this one.Since purchasing this one I also bought the Halulite version of this kettle, which is the same, but made from a lightweight aluminum. The only other difference is that the aluminum kettle has a rubber coating on the handle and the ring you use to lift the lid. The aluminum kettle is a little lighter, this one weighs 8.9 ounces, and the aluminum weighs 6.05 ounces.I prefer the stainless steel kettle, but you can't go wrong with the aluminum one either. The stainless steel feels more durable, and the indents which lock the handle are stronger, which provides a nicer feel. While the rubber coating on the handle of the aluminum kettle does dissipate heat, its problematic if you are using it in a fire, as the rubber will melt. The stainless steel is also a little cheaper.

Schickes Teil

Tough and compact
We have REALLY used this little kettle over the past few years, both while camping and even sometimes at home to boil a small quantity of water. It is sturdy, and being stainless steel is probably safer to use on a regular basis than aluminium. Being stainless steel doesn’t make it heavy though, and water begins to boil very fast even on an open fire.It isn’t a big kettle - holds enough water for two people to have an average size mug of tea. But the compact size means it won’t take up a great deal of space in a backpack. Our kettle has seen some serious use over the past two years but, apart from the blackening on the outside, is doing a grand job. Would I buy another - definitely.

Gsi stainless steel kettel

Ottimo.

Does not work on induction stovetops
I have the brushed aluminium version of this and it is super cute and lightweight. I love it but needed a kettle that worked on my induction and sadly this one does not. GSI should consider producing a layered stainless for the base so that this kettle becomes the perfect allrounder, similar to the Hario Buono
