Excellent transfer board.
This transfer board works well to allow me to move from my wheelchair to my stander. I also use it to transfer to a hospital bed, a doctors table and a cat scan table. The special coating is very slick and enables me to slide my 240 pound body very easily.

Good for the bathroom and car.
This is a quality product. It is durable and sturdy. There is minimal friction and edges are smooth. Have confidence you won't slide off. Have confidence that you can slide for those with limited mobility.

UltraSlick is Slick
Only rated a 4 star because it didn't fully meet my requirements. The board is indeed slick and carries my 200 lb weight very well. it is very thin and though no fault of the board, creates problems for me. I have a Roho cushion on my chair and a Roho mattress topper that I am transferring to and from. The board is so thin that it sinks down in both, far enough that it makes the transfer a little difficult. The board is also slick, although not as much, on the bottom and could use some non-skid material on the bottom. I would recommend the board.

Great product; might not work with for someone with dementia
I gave this five stars because it is high quality, very well made and really slick - when I tried it myself, I could see what a great help this would be for someone with lower body weakness. Unfortunately, our family member with dementia could not use it; they just could not get over their fear of sitting on it to transfer. To return it, I am having to pay return postage plus a hefty restocking fee, so I wanted to let others know this might not work for someone with dementia with lower body weakness. But, I do believe for someone with normal mental capabilities, this thing would be terrific.

Much easier than regular boards
My Mother had her leg removed a few months ago. She used a regular wood transfer board while in physical therapy at the nursing home. She was having difficulty transferring so I bought her this ultra board. She found it to be much slicker than the other board and made her transferring much easier and faster. The whole ordeal has been a learning experience such as finding different techniques to accomplish certain tasks. For example finding out different types of materials on pants will slide easier than others.Anyway, she really likes this board.

Let the buyer beware.
I am a paraplegic with a spinal cord injury, and I have used transfer boards since 1978. Most of the boards I have used are the varnished wood kind with handles. These boards have worked fine for me for almost 35 years to transfer in and out of cars and in and out of bed.In November of 2012 I noticed that I was having some trouble getting into bed. I transfer from my wheelchair to the right into bed. My butt was getting stuck on the wheel of my wheelchair, and twice I thought I wasn't going to get into bed! I checked the transfer boards here at Amazon, and I read some of the reviews for the Ultra Slick transfer board. Since the reviews claim the Ultra Slick makes transfers easy even for quads, I thought it would help me make transfers easier. When I received the Ultra Slick, I soon discovered that it's a fairly standard transfer board. It's basically the same as the varnished wood boards I've used all along. It may be a little lighter and smother than the other boards, but it didn't make transfers easier for me.If you find yourself in the situation I'm in, then I'd recommend sticking with the less expensive boards. I solved my transfer problem by using a firmer wheelchair cushion, the Vicair, which sits me higher in my wheelchair allowing me to more easily transfer over the wheel of my wheelchair. See a good occupational therapist for more information.

Excellent transfer board - holding up well
No signs of damage or degradation after six months of use in a van for transferring between wheel chair and drivers seat, and between wheel chair and handcycle. The coating is pretty thick and well bonded with the wood.Significanlty less friction than with standard wood transfer boards.

Best slide boards
Best slide boards, hands down! Very sturdy, excellent slick surface, perfect size choices! Yes, they're a little pricey, but they perform perfectly!! I liked the first one I bought so much, I came back for three more - short ones this time!! I currently use them independently, but they would work with assistance, as well.
