How would i use this for an a5 book ? would i need pliers to cut it ? also i will need it for around 50 pages so what size would be best ?

Its plastic, so nail clippers or kitchen scissors should cut it. You need to fold the ends of the coil over to stop it 'screwing out', so pliers are useful for that, or just use your fingers. 3/8 " / 9.5mm coils are advertised as holding 50 sheets - I've used it once with about 60 sheets including card covers.

how thick is the wire, I have 4*4mm Wire, will this work?

The wire-diameter of these coils is typically 2.0 mm or 2.25 mm; and the holes produced by wire coil punches are typically either 4 mm round holes or 4 x 4 mm square holes. So, the coils should fit the holes, provided that both the punched holes and the coils are 1:3 pitch (34 holes down the long side of A4 paper). Your quoted 4 * 4mm wire seems a bit on the small size - the smallest I've seen on sale is 1/4" diameter: often found on one-page per month calendars (14 pages with the card covers).

Does this work with 21 hole A4 sheets

Sorry, I thinks it is not work with 21 hole A4 sheets. But it works with 34 holes A4 sheets. Because this coil binding spines is 3:1 pitch, which means per inch has 3 holes.

Ideal replacement for a damaged wire coil binding

I had a some number of documents which had been produced and bound by the originator using wire coil bindings, so the holes were already punched in the pages and covers, but the wire coils had become crushed and pages were dropping out.It was very easy to remove each of the damaged wire coils and hand-fed these plastic coils through the pages, to give a first class set of re-bound documents.Very happy with it product.
