It fits as its supposed to, that's the problem. This shelf needs to be about a 1/4" wider in my opinion. You can tell that the way its made that it will put stress on the shelf if you put heavy stuff on it because the shelf can shift slightly. If you're replacing your shelf I would suggest you add something in between the 2 shelves at the bottom. If you can add something underneath to support the shelf it might keep it from cracking again.

OK so the design of these GE fridges is garbage because the tray slides around in the Mount and then falls out and cracks. The fact that you can get a replacement in 3 days is fantastic though. Pro tip: to keep it from siding around go get some foam weather stripping from your local home store and wedge it on the sides of this then it will stay in place like a freaking boss.

Second one I’ve purchased. First one lasted 3 years. The glass fit in perfectly but the shelf itself sits just a bit off inside the fridge. This time I placed a folded piece of cardboard on one side to give it extra support and it seems to have helped.

Poorly made, to short in width to catch the bracket solidly. It breaking already just like the last one. How hard would it be to measure and make it fit so it won’t break?

This replacement part for our 8-year old GE refrigerator seems to be identical to the one that broke. It fit perfectly and was easy to install. It has the same shortcoming as the original as well -- it is made of plastic, which gradually weakens with age and eventually breaks.
