Best EDC for "Dads"
I must admit, I have spent a LOT of money on knives in my younger years, I was stuck on Benchmade for quite a while especially. However, as I have grow older and my priorities changed (Hint.. KIDS). I am no longer going to spend 150 dollars on a knife that I will probably lose anyway. This Leatherman Knife is perfect. Less then 40 bucks.. has a bottle opener, which is used more then anything for..uh... beverages, has a combo blade and two screwdrivers. This is one of those knives I ALWAYS have on me nowadays. The screwdrivers are tough and the right size for most jobs around the house. It isn't too thick at all, which was my original fear when first buying. The absolute best thing about this knife is the Blade opener assist mechanism. Once you use it you will never go back to another blade assist system. Leatherman really got it right on this one. For the regular ol 'Dad' out there, who isn't trying to be a tactical Rambo type, this is the best Every Day Carry knife you can own in my opinion. Especially if you do NOT want to lug a full size Leatherman around on your belt or pocket.

Love this knife
Love this knife. Why did it take them so long to get a blade and a couple of screwdrivers in a nice size pocket knife? I have had it a few months and use it daily. It's holding up very well. The quick-flick open mechanism is useless but I just flip it open with my thumb naturally anyway. The screwdrivers are pretty stout but I wouldn't use this to open any frozen/rusty bolts as it's not built for that.Overall I'm very happy and carry this every day and use it every day.Update: I've had this knife for 8 months now and still carry it every day and use it regularly. The blade holds a good edge and the screwdrivers are still working great. Other knives are either slightly too big sit right in my pants pocket while I'm driving or too small to be very useful. Using it as a bottle opener will work in a pinch but takes some explaining if your buddy wants to use it as it's not really intuitive (how often is this possibly going to come up?)Still my favorite pocket knife and I can't think of any way to make it better.

yet super easy to use, my Go-To day-to-day pocket tool.
I use this everyday. Very light, compact, yet super easy to use. It's not large like other leathermans, so it's super easy to use the screwdrivers. The pop-out can opener is a nice touch, and doubles as a hook to hook onto a belt loop.Very well-thought out folding knife, for a decent price.EDIT: I've had this for a few years now. It's easy to sharpen, holds its edge relatively well, easy to take apart and clean. This is the best EDC compact pocket tool ever made ever.

Basic Quality Pocket Knife
The knife has some break-in needed on all of the pivot mechanisms for the tools and the blade itself. Once these break in it is very easy to access all parts of the knife.Have not used the bottle opener yet.Everything else works well. Blade is sharp. Tools are durable.Good sized knife. Good build. Worth the price. Would recommend the stainless steel over the black. I got the black, it looks cool but if you put the knife to work, the black comes off all of the tools/blade eventually.

One of the most amazing knives on the market!
Once again, this is a great and most wonderful product from Leatherman!! The knife is great and very sharp, with a serrated edge on its end, and the locking blade with a liner lock is awesome. The blade is easily deployed with a single hand. The grip feels great and comfortable to handle, and the side profile of the knife is thin, despite the features it provides. I love both the flathead and Philips screwdrivers- they click into position and are very sturdy to grip and use comfortably. The carabiner's dual purpose as being a bottle opener is alos a great wonderful surprise to its functionality- it definitely works very well! Everything about this knife is so well built, robust and sturdy- from the fixings they use, to the finishes of the tools (knife blade, screwdrivers, carabiner) and the glass-filled nylon grip, which cannot be easily scratched. For those who want a robust knife with a locking blade and has the practicality of basic tools, I cannot give a better recommendation than this. This is a must have knife for outdoor enthusiasts and for everyday use.

Buy one, you'll thank me later.
Joints were a little gritty at first but that loosened up quickly. The blade was crazy sharp at first and still holds a decent edge considering how much I've used it. The screwdrivers "snap" open, so there's no manual lock but they are very solid. There is a liner lock on the blade that is trustworthy and the blade launcher has been much improved over the years. I've had several iterations of this knife Over the past 7 or 8 years and I only ever paid for two: the first one that was replaced (after I broke it) at least twice by Leatherman's excellent warranty program, and then this particular model after I lost my original (several time replaced) knife. If I had to have one suggestion, I wish the carabiner open prevented the blade from opening, though that may not work for someone else's particular application. Also the black coating does wear a little, but so will the silver finish of the other version. I've owned both. Neither was a big deal. It's called patina, folks, and it's what makes grandpa's personal effects so special to grandson when he inherits them.

Great idea, so-so execution
I was looking for an everyday carry clip blade with a serrated edge and easy open blade. When I saw this leatherman with a handy dandy set of screwdrivers (and a bottle opener) I was sold. Having received it my first impression was that the plastic handle seemed chintzy and overall it was wider than I expected. The blade is sharp and good quality albeit shorter than I usually prefer. The open assist stud is only on one side and is not placed for optimum leverage; it doesn't flick open as easily as other unassisted blades I've used. All in all, I'll give it a try and see if it grows on me but I'm not immediately in love with it.
