The scale is incredible. Looks definitely play a major role in this scales appeal, but the scale goes far beyond just looking pretty.The measurements are extremely accurate (to a .1 of a gram I believe).Having a timer on the scale is a super plus - a timer that is intuitive and easy to control on the fly (looking at you, Hario) and a timer that syncs with your iPad to see real time stats.The app is helpful when tracking water flow on the chemex and has helped me get a better understanding my brewing methods.Great scale. Worth the money. I got two to start and plan to pick up a few more when my volume increases.

This is a very responsive scale. There’s no delay in getting a reading and it displays the weight of even a single coffee bean. The display is brighter than the white Pearl’s. This is an excellent scale but it comes with some annoying shortcomings.If you simply want to use the weight function or weight with timer it is very intuitive. However, if you want to use the more advanced modes, like the timer that starts automatically when the pour begins, you are in for some frustrating time with the sparse instructions. You have to enable some modes before they are available. This involves many button presses and diligent attention to the manual. Even then, some instructions make little sense. If you stick with it, and don’t throw the thing against a wall in frustration, you will eventually get it to do what you want. I’m not going to use an app with this no matter how nice it is. I don’t feel the need to document my brews. So I give it no points for the silly app. It might be fun to play with, but I just want good coffee and quick. I am downgrading this scale because of how difficult it is to get started with it. Acaia could have done a much better job with their documentation.

So so glad I got this. The app itself needs some improvement, but everything about the scale itself is fantastic. Hint: store upright so to not trigger the "weight monitor". This thing sells out its so awesome!

really a great scale, pairs so easily. It just works and that is super nice. using the pad is essential, I scratched up the display not using the pad.live and learn.

Nice look, but pressing button in correct spot is difficult. Turning on the unit to weigh, then hitting the timer button sometimes misses. I want to check weight sometimes, but want to time my espresso shot most every time...this has been an inconvenience. Just like typing on a glass screen...not always easy.

Easy to use, reliable and makes coffee fun!

I used to have two brewistas smart scales for weighting my portafilters, espresso shots and pour overs; I was looking for something bigger in order to get a better ease of use when making pourovers and weighting my portafilter. My Acaia scale does both really good. 10/10 Would buy it again.

I use this scale for my morning Chemex and generally love it. It has amazing battery life (I've had it for six months and have charged it probably only twice). I use it in tandem with a Baratza Vario grinder that has a built in scale for grinding coffee; those two scales always agree with each other, so I believe the Acaia scale's readings to be exceptionally accurate. The app is a fun addition with many great features that can improve how you brew. I wish the app was better about default settings - you have to select your brewing method, ratio, etc. every single time, and I wish you could have a countdown timer instead of a count-up timer. Those are minor details though - the reason this isn't a five star review is because I find the usability of the scale to be pretty low if you aren't using the app. The touch button features on the scale are finicky, it's much easier to tare and change units on the app. If you purchase this, you should expect to use the app every time you use the scale.
