BraunShaver Series 3 3040s (Japanese Import) Electric Shaver, Wet and Dry Electric Razor for Men with Pop Up Precision Trimmer, Rechargeable and Cordless Shaver (White)

I have been a big fan of Braun products in the past, but have seen a lot of reviews that quality has suffered in recent years. My dad is in the hospital on heavy doses of blood thinners and an article I found through google suggested that foil shavers were a good choice. I ordered this one on the small chance that it was made in Japan and might be better quality (the reviews seemed a little inconsistent on that point). Don’t waste your time. They are all made in the same place. The directions are in Japanese and English and it looks like the plugs work in the US. However, I really see no reason to order the import version if you live in the US.

Came fully discharged so it did not power up. Plugged it in and still no power. Left it to charge and read instructions. It's wet/dry so for safety it doesn't work plugged in. After 5 minutes I unplugged it and it powered up after pushing the button. This is different than my last Braun Series 3 that worked with and without the cord. So I was also hoping made in Japan but I guess not. I do like the color scheme. Looks and feels like Braun listened as it shaves better than my last one that I just replaced the head on and lost to a house fire.

I had a similar Braun 390cc/5772 shaver that came with a 5783 clean and renew station, but the old NiMH batteries were holding less charge and it was time for a replacement blade head. This JP import 3040s/5416 seemed to have all the features I actually used and was at a good price, so I decided to order it. This 3040s shaver does come with a US-style bladed power plug (fine for me in the USA) that accepts voltages from 100-240v. Even if the packaging is made for Japan, the shaver says made in China. I've been pleased with the 3040s shaver's performance.My minor issue was that I'd hoped my old shaver's clean and renew station (5783 that came with my 390cc/5772 shaver) might work with this new 3040s/5416 shaver. The new shaver operates a little differently in that it won't run when connected to the charger and it also didn't activate the cleaning cycle of the old clean and renew station, even though it fits and charges. That part of my upgrade didn't work out.

This is the best BRAUN Shaver I ever owned. Shaves very well (I use dry shave) and shaves closer than ever expected. Had a Series1 for along time, a good performer. But nothing like this one (single foil vs. dual foil head). Very pleased and recommend to anyone looking for a good dual foil shaver. Unit arrived sooner than expected; another plus. I ordered the Japanese Version, because I felt quality would be better. Don't know if it makes any difference. I am very happy with the Japanese model.

Does the Braun shave as close as a razor blade shaver; no. Does the Braun give me a comfortable shave that makes me look like I don’t need a shave; yes. Shaving with the Braun is quicker and less fuss than a blade. I took the other reviewers’ advice and use an electric shaver pre-shave lotion. I don’t use a lot of pressure when I’m shaving and stop when I don’t hear the sound of beard hair being cut. When finished, I remove the shave head, tap it on the bottom of the sink which removes most of the beard hair and I then lightly brush everything with the included brush. I love the Braun 3040s shave. I bought the Japanese model because I liked the white edge color better than the green.

The worst razor I’ve ever had - ever - and I gave it six months to get its act together, including the purchase of a new cutting head. I have a moderate set of whiskers and this piece of junk couldn’t handle it. I used a green pre-shave lotion, rubbed my face to get my whiskers ready, and started in with this razor. Very noisy razor! Ten minutes later I still had a scratchy not-at-all-close shave, plus a good case of razor burn, which needed the assistance of a Bic disposable to finish the job. I replaced it with a Norelco that gets the job done quite comfortably in four minutes tops. Bye bye Braun.

japanese import? had US plug.. not available in this color in US, I thought it might be hard to clean. I was delighted to be wrong. If I would stop leaving my razors in strange places, I wouldnt be able to buy new ones. great value.

Used this shaver before. Purchased as a replacement after the old one broke after over 5 years of usage. Braun always makes good shaver.

My husband needed a new razor, so I ordered this one. It’s just okay.

購入半年でトラブル、充電後コードを抜くと上2つのグリーンシグナル点滅、スイッチを入れても作動せず、本体とコードを抜き差しを繰り返したら何とか正常になり、充電するまでは異状なく使えますが、充電するとまた同じ状況、買い替えかな結局高いものになりそうです。
