Easy to plug in and good to have the peace of mind knowing itโs there. Our previous alarm got to end of life and started beeping - I would appreciate a little more clarity which beeps are end of life and which beeps are the alarm!

Good Basic Plug-in Alarm
I'm giving this item 4 stars due to price, because there is a First Alert plug-in option for less money which has the additional safety feature of a battery for backup in case of power failure. Thought I was ordering that model but didn't notice this one does not have the battery. I like that these alarms from First Alert let you know when they cease to function, which the instructions clearly state will happen. It chirps differently than when you test the device. My First Alert model 606, which just failed, lasted for about 8 years. I will keep this and also get model 606 for the bedroom.
