I’m over the moon with this chair, it’s cheap and excellent. This is really all you would need to know but if you’re like me then you’ll still be curious. Assembly is very simple, other reviews said the instructions aren’t good but I didn’t use them as it’s parently obvious what goes together. Despite being a cheap, lightweight chair it is very strong (supports me easily, I’m huge) and also great in terms of ergonomics. Go for this simple chair over fancier, gaming chairs as they encourage bad posture and will lead to problems. I’ve been using the chair for a while now, several hours a day and I’ve had no issues that I’d previous have. As for the reviews mentioning the chair degrading over time, no sign of that but if it changes then I’ll definitely update this review.

The chair is well made, substantial, and comfortable - far better than I was expecting! The lumbar support is really excellent. There was an initial snag with the delivery, but this was rapidly sorted out by the supplier, Chilli Chairs - so full marks here.

I had high hopes for Hippo chair. Assembly was easy but I noticed that the components and structure of chair were poor quality. The plastic used and the slide on coverings for back rest support arm and gas cylinder very thin and cheap quality. The chair seat foam had no substance going flat to the seat bottom and uncomfortable to sit on. The back rest had similar foam padding of poor quality and continually creaked when lent against. Very lightweight, wood seat and plastic material for build of chair. The instructions were clear enough but I noticed that there were no manufacture name details, CE markings etc. Hippo have not put their name to this chair, bulk production by third-party? The description of chair on website drew me into the purchase. The reality on delivery and inspection was a Hippo disappointment. No I do not recommend this chair, glad I have made early return for Refund.

On delivery I noticed that the box had split and one of the chair's parts was sticking out and scuffed. I was surprised to see that none of the parts were protected by any sort of wrapping and there was slight damage to the fabric on the chair's backrest with a prominent loose thread which may or may not result in further damage over time (see photo). It was also quite difficult push the castors on and needed some strength to do so. Once assembled however the chair is comfortable and seems reasonably priced.

I was very pleased with this chair when it first arrived. It was easy to put together and felt firm and comfortable. However after a couple of months use I noticed that the foam had become less firm in the centre of the seat and the bolts, which secure the seat to the base, were becoming increasingly uncomfortable, forming hard bumps in the seat base. I managed to overcome this by removing the offending bolts by inserting four washers as shims on each to prevent them protruding from the seat base. This is something that should have been sorted by the manufacturers.

Our older chair had finally given up, so went looking for another.replacement and went on Amazon. This looked ideal so grabbed one. It arrived within 2 days and was very well packaged, and came with full assy instructions. Follow the instructions and when fully assembled you will see that you have purchased a really flexible chair with a very comfortable seat and back. lots of options for seat and back via various levers which will get you to your best sat position, but beware if you let your Wife use it who will reset these settings, you will need to reset it again, but that is so easy to do, just remember what lever does what. A truly great purchase for me/us.

Comfortable, affordable, easy to assemble.

This is very much a plain office chair in terms of looks, but is perfect if you want something that will give you good posture at work. Comfortable and fully adjustable. Takes just a few minutes to put it together and looks like it will last.
