If you're looking for a great set of drivers, get these.
If you're looking for a great set of drivers for guns (or other things), get these. Used, for the first time, to remove screws on/in an old Winchester 1873 rifle (at least 100 years old). Needed to use some PB on one screw (cartridge load door screw). An earlier attempt to remove that screw broke a different bit. The heat treated bits in this set had no issue holding onto the screw head and it was sofa king easy to remove that screw. Of course, I used down-force on the screw, as I turned, but you're supposed to do it that way. I then used other bits to remove screws that were still in the receiver, or holding the front sight onto the barrel, so that the parts were completely separated. Since these bits are heat treated, I'm not at all concerned about how they'll hold up over time. With the different options to hold the bits (short handle, extension for that handle, and ratchet handle) I highly doubt I'll ever have issue with using them. Of all the other sets I looked at, these were the only ones that called out being heat treated (also assume they've been tempered). Stronger bits means they'll last far longer. I've managed to twist enough screwdriver blades over the years to value properly treated metal there. I've also snapped more than a few screwdriver blades that were hardened, but not tempered. Or were just inferior metal. So, bottom line, if you're looking to work on your own firearms, get these. I've seen sets with driver handles that fold/bend to give you more leverage, and ratchet too. Sorry, but I think a solid (simple) handle is best for most tasks. You're not going to be extracting a long enough screw where the ratchet will be of value (most of the time). The majority of screws in/on guns are under 1/2" long. Most of those are under 1/4" long. Once you get them to break free, they're easy to remove by hand. I will be recommending this brand to people I know who either work on their own guns, or are looking to.

Worth every penny - and US made
Not just for gunsmithing- this kit is perfect for bike maintenance, toy construction, really anything you might need a really good set of hex and screwdrivers. The star is perfect for fine tuning- the ratchet makes everyday in or out screw applications sooo much easier. I donโt know how I lived without these. The ratchet and screwdriver handle can be combined to generate more torque than could possibly be needed. [I donโt know why any other reviewer would question the durability- sure its great for โprecisionโ work, but Iโve been pretty rough with them on some hard applications and havenโt come close to breaking anything]. The bits are top notch. Iโll pay a bit extra for such high quality made in America tools every day of the week. Already ordered the star bit pocket set from Chapman to complement it.

Perfect gunsmith set
Chapman screwdriver set has just about every bit you need to work on new or old firearms. They donโt strip, scratch or mar the screws and the handle and shaft are ergonomic and hold the bits tightly, but still allow easy change of bits. This set is compact and well organized and the tool is very high quality. Plus you can buy additional or replacement bits directly from Chapman. Highly recommended!

Great quality, USA made screwdriver set.
Yes, these are pricy, but the quality is great. Although I'm a gun owner, I've never actually needed a set of these, but I can definitely see the application now. We actually bought these as I'm helping my wife refurbish an 80 year old Singer sewing machine. Long before Phillips screws, flat/slotted screws were king, and this machine is full of them. That and after being in place for decades covered in grime, normal everyday slotted screw drivers with a tappered tips won't cut it, you'll most likely just round out the head. The quality is great and even though they are small drive bits, they do not feel cheap or lightweight. These bits have worked perfectly everytime we've used them, even on screws that were already starting to round out on the head. Lastly, I love the "Made in the USA" proudly placed in large letters, backgrounded by the American Flag on the front of the case. It may actually be larger than the โThe Chapman MFG Company" logo. To me, this speaks of the pride in their workmanship/quality.

Impressive!
Ignore the reviews with busted tips as that's how these are designed! it's gunsmithing set and you do NOT want to damage or strip screws and the tips will break if you push them instead of stripping the screw. Screws for firearms are generally spec'd for the specific firearm and where it's used. You will not find a replacement at the hardware store! It's much easier to get another screw tip! Think about it...you will either break the screw tip OR ruin the screw....This is all explained in the literature supplied so no one should be surprised much less mad if there are serious about their firearms.

Great Set
This bits are high quality. I had used a cheaper driver set, and the slotted bits broke under pressure when releasing the more seized fasteners. Not this product though, throughout the size range they are very durable. I just can't seem to magnetize the bits though.

Works perfectly for gun fasteners
I used this kit for disassembling a 128 year old .30 40 Krag rifle to mount a scope and do general maintenance and lubrication. I was able to complete the task without marring any of the screws. I am very pleased with the result and would highly recommend this quality kit. Absolutely no damage occurred to any fastener.

Bought this set twice--the first set from some other store, and the latest set from Amazon...
Heyyy... The quality of this Chapman gun screwdriver set has definitely withstood the rigors of time. I used it numerous times for numerous projects, and it has never let me down. It's very handy, compact, well-designed, and well-made. These attributes undoubtedly lured my daughter to heist my original set when she went off to college. I was devastated--naturally--but I got over it, and I bought my second Chapman gun screw driver set from Amazon. Excellent! I just gotta remember to hide it whenever somebody comes to visit.
