Overall, this dishwasher is VERY worth the money
First things first - Delivery: Apparently, I'm located (NE Ohio) reasonably close to a Danby distribution center, so it was only a few days. I ran into a hiccup initially - the initial shipper calls before delivering - and I wasn't expecting delivery so soon and received no call, nor had any record of it, so the order was cancelled. When I reached out to Danby, the rep I communicated with via Amazon was incredibly helpful! They followed up when I reordered and made sure the shipper (FedEx this time) had the correct number in case they needed to call. If this was in anyway indicative of Danby's customer service team, I'm very impressed and highly recommend them. Next up - this thing is HEAVY - much heavier than I expected, having moved full-sized dishwashers in the past, It feels every bit the 175lbs listed as the shipping weight. If you have to move up a flight of steps, be sure to plan on a couple people and an appliance dolly. My initial plan to deal with stairs was to lay it on it's side and slide it up the carpeted stairs. Do NOT do that. As I started to do so, I quickly realized there was no significant padding between the exterior box and the dishwasher itself. This would explain why some arrive dented, as leaning it on the edge of a truck and slowly leaning it to the ground could probably easily dent the chassis. I eventually used a yard tractor and cart to drive it around to the back of the house to bring it in through the slider near the kitchen on the main floor (house is built into the side of a hill) and 'walking' it in through a sliding glass door. Unboxing is dead simple - cut the three plastic straps and lift the unpadded outer box off the base. Speaking of the base, it is molded styrofoam in order to protect the attached wheels and adjacent chassis. Unfortunately, unless you can deadlift it out of the base, you will have to walk it out, popping the stryofoam edges and strewing it around your kitchen to the point it looks like you just had a light snowfall. My suggestions to Danby would be to better pad the sides -with a couple pieces of very dense cardboard and styrofoam panels, and to consider an expanding foam process for the base. None of these are showstoppers, but it would improve the first-impression experience. Next was the setup, which was overall very good. The racks, sink adapter (included!), hoses, etc... were all well-secured to avoid damage during shipping. The hoses are a little inconveniently located a few inches under the rear, bottom of the back. If Danby could extend these just a bit more, it would make the process a good bit easier. Lastly, the drain outlet has a runner washer that has to stay in place when you screw it in. I found that a tiny dab of petroleum jelly helped keep it in place while attaching the hose adapter. Loading it was very simple, as both racks are very solid and well-thought out. I was pleasantly surprised at how many dishes fit in it. Don't misunderstand - this is a small dishwasher, so don't plan on loading full sized roaster pans along with a full place setting. but for routine dishes, cups and silverware it's very efficiently laid out. As others have noted, there's no place for prewash detergent, so I just squirted a bit of soap in the bottom before starting the cycle. I'm heading the warnings of other reviews and using gel/liquid instead of pods or powder. As far as operation, I'm running my first load right now and can report no leaks and, as others have mentioned, it is surprisingly quiet. I'll update later regarding how well it cleans, but so far I'm very happy with choice and highly recommend this dishwasher and company. -- Update: Multiple initial attempts to run this dishwasher were terrible failures, with failed cycles and error messages and beeps. I reached out to Danby a second time and was impressed that they were happy to accept a return. Dreading moving it out and another in, I decided to completely empty it of water (hoses off, tilting back to 45 degrees) and let it sit overnight to try it one last time. I'm glad I did - it completed two unloaded cycles, as well as half a dozen loaded cycles since then. The initial results were disappointing with a heavy soap film covering everything. After researching more (and reading the manual, finally) I learned the gel detergents commonly leave more residue than powders or pods. That, and Danby recommends a rinse agent to be used with their dishwashers. And I couldn't agree more - the next load with the gel I had on-hand along with a rinse agent had my dishes come out spotless. I'm still a little hesitant because of the initial error messages and beeps, but overall I am extremely happy with this dishwasher and very impressed with Danby's responsive customer service. I highly recommend this dishwasher and company. -- Update #2 -Two months later: The dishwasher continues to work extremely well, and I have a few suggestions for potential buyers of this model. Some I learned from an EXHAUSTIVE youtube video about dishwashers (well worth the time) and some from my own experiences: 1 - Run your tap's hot water to get it as hot as possible before hooking up and running. Why? Suppose your dishwasher uses 2 gallons to fill up, but you have to run 1 gallon before your water heats up? Well, you're expecting to have clean dishes with lukewarm water. 2 - I still have the gel cleaner, but use it to squirt a bit on the door for the prewash cycle. Surprisingly, plain ol' Walmart Great Value powder detergent works quite well. 3 - The dishwasher rolls very easily IF you make sure the front wheels are unlocked. Otherwise you're just dragging it around. Because I back mine into a fairly narrow spot between uses, I use my foot turn the wheels to the right position to move forward out of it's spot. It makes moving it SO much easier. 4 - As others have mentioned, there's no graceful way to drain the hoses when stowing between uses. To that end, I keep my 'cleaning bucket' nearby to drain them into. 5 - I'm not paranoid about keeping thing perfect, but I placed a large silicone mat on the top to avoid damage to the finish when things are set on it - it becomes a little bit of extended counter space. I think it looks nice and serves it's purpose. I still recommend this dishwasher to anyone looking to maximize their kitchen space.

Great little dishwasher !
This is a great little dishwasher ! I don’t find it to be cheaply made like some of the reviewers have said. It came in perfect condition no dents no issues at all. I have ran three loads through it so far everything has came out clean. It rolls around my floor just fine and it’s quiet . When your cycles finished, it will give a little beep and a little red indicator light will come on and the little flashing white light on whichever cycle you have it on will go off when it’s finished. I see people are complaining of the drain hose that hooks to the sink . I’ve never had a portable dishwasher that I didn’t have to drain a little water out of. I’ve had to drain about 2 ounces of water out of the hose after each use . I have not had any issues with leaking where you hook it up in the back. It actually holds more than I thought it would too. The first load I ran an entire set of pots and pans through it , the second load I washed six baking dishes, two cake pans, three casserole dishes, and one loaf pan. The third load I ran eight bowls of silverware, six plates and some other odds and ends stuff and everything came out clean and dry. I do highly recommend using gel detergent cascade or finish is best .and definitely use rinse aid. I just bought great value at Walmart. My item was not supposed to arrive until June eighteenth . I ordered it on June seventh and it came on the thirteenth. It was very fast shipping.! It is shipped from Ohio I’m about 600 miles away . I think it’s a good price for what it is. I would highly recommend it. I would not even think twice about ordering another one for the price!

Out of service not even one year later
The dishwasher drain pump is prone to failure. Our first unit lasted two months before the drain cycle failed and the pump made an awful grinding noise. Danby replaced it for free, which was excellent, however the SECOND unit had the same issue after 9 months. Again, the drain pump stopped working and the dishwasher was stuck full of water. I can't recommend this, unfortunately. While it does result in clean dishes, faulty parts mean the dishwasher dies is under one year.

Cleans well and fits more than you'd think.
I have had mine since February 24, 2025. Much like a lot of people here, mine did come dented, but I fault the shipping company for that and not the manufacturer. So far, I have been very happy with the unit overall. It cleans very well, it's easy to connect to the sink, fit's like a glove where I needed it to (which was a big relief), it holds more dishes than I would have expected, and I can report no leaks so far. The only negative for me so far is that the bottom rack is designed for a lot of plates. This means the racking is very tight, so unless I am cleaning all my plates (which I never am) it does make putting other large dishes challenging when I am needing to wash silverware. When I don't, I can totally make it work.

Gets the job done and seems to be holding up well to daily use
I bought this dishwasher to replace my old counter top dishwasher when it finally died and so far I’m happy with it. I have to take a star off because it came with a broken leg and a bunch of dents that I’m pretty sure happened during shipping because the shipping box has no padding between the box and the washer. I’m not too worried about the leg since it also has four wheels to support it, but I have seen other reviews say the wheels break kinda fast so we will see how it actually holds up and I’ll update from there. It shipped and arrived very fast which was nice/ unexpected since the original eta was about three weeks out. I will say that while it is easy to roll around on its wheels, this thing is HEAVY to lift, especially if you have to get it up stairs. Our house only has a three step porch that isn’t very high, but it was super hard to get it over the steps and into the house due to the weight and awkward size of the shipping packaging. It took two people, a make shift ramp, and a lot of struggling to get it inside! The difficulty we had was mainly due to my house, but I wanted to include the warning cuz its important to consider if you are going to have to lift this at any point. Other than that it was super easy to install. You just pop the cable / hose holding piece into place and attach the water and drain hose to the machine. Taking out the inner packaging that kept the inside stuff from moving took longer than actually installing it. It looks nice and matches the rest of my built in kitchen appliances. It fit my faucet fine with the standard adapter gasket so I didn’t have to make any changes. It has a power, program finished, add rinse aid, program, and ultra hot water lights. There is no visible timer or screen to indicate how long is left in a cycle or error codes. The light for the cycle you selected just blinks until the program is complete and then it beeps and the program complete light turns on. It feels very spacious inside despite being a smaller unit, and it can get a lot of dishes done if you take the time to load it correctly. It doesn’t use a lot of detergent. I use the gel and it cleans really well with like a table spoon of gel. I have really hard water so we go through the rinse aid a little faster. The programs are all kind of long compared to the counter top dishwasher I had, but I chalk it up to the difference in the amount of dishes it can hold. It can be annoying to not know how much time is left in a program though so I set timers on my phone. Handles the dirty dishes fairly well, but it doesn’t have an internal disposal like some models of portable dishwasher, so I make sure my dishes are rinsed of big pieces of food before putting in the dish washer, just to be safe. It’s surprisingly quiet, especially compared to the counter top model I had before. It’s so quiet that I often forget it’s running until it goes to drain out some water in the cycle. I haven’t noticed any leaking yet but I’m keeping an eye on it and I don’t run it when I’m not home just to make sure I’m there to catch it if it does leak. I use it once or twice a day depending on how often I’m cooking and it’s been holding up pretty great to daily use. I’ll update if I notice that changes. So far it’s a great value for the money, especially if you don’t have the space or hook ups for a full size dishwasher or bigger portable dishwasher.

Works better than I expected
Honestly works better then I had expected. Washes well. Isn't super loud but does make noise. Wheels lock in place and rolls easily. Not a ton of space inside so not expect to be able to fit a huge dinner clean up in it all at once. I raise the dishes before they go in. The only downside is you will need to drain the hose connectors after the wash. It isn't a big deal but does need to be done. I also found thr pods don't work as well in the dish washer.

Good but could be better.
I've had mine for a couple of months. Works as it should now that I noticed the black twist tie securing the upper spray arm. Why not use a twist tie that's red or orange or some other color so when you're unpacking the thing you notice it. Also, not exactly happy about how the hoses dangle off the back of the unit (none of the photos in the listing show them as when you actually use the unit), they add at least 6 inches to the space you need behind the unit to store it. Didn't these things used to have a compartment that they slipped in to??? Another beef, how hard would it be to incorporate a check value to keep water from leaking out of the hoses when you put them away??? One final small thing, why is the flatware holder in the back??? Did the people who designed this thing ever actually use one at home????

Danby appliances are awesome
I had an old Danby Designer Series portable dishwasher- the ancient ancestor to this one (had to be at least 25 yrs old) and was held together with super glue and elastic bands! It was so old the plastic was dissolving inside and it couldn’t be repaired. This replacement is the new version of the old one with some design changes. I can fit more dishes in it - and it is way more efficient and cleans way better AND IS VIRTUALLY SILENT! Danby appliances are workhorses and reliable - I will choose them over another manufacturers every time. It takes half the amount of detergent and cleans very well - but my water in Vancouver is very soft. Drawbacks - the hose holder that attaches to the back keeps falling off. That’s my only complaint - and I would rather reattach it a million times than having to do dishes - enough said. DELIVERY BY UPS sucks - the unit was delivered late, the carton was destroyed (and repaired by someone- UPS?) and the UPS website tracking said the unit was damaged in shipping- and it was - but it was a small cosmetic dent on the side which does not affect performance. EVERY SINGLE TIME something is delivered by UPS it arrives damaged, destroyed or missing and I have expressed my displeasure to Amazon - let’s hope that Amazon stops using them as a carrier! Amazon “made it right” though, and the dishwasher has made its forever home in my kitchen. Thanks Amazon!

Does pretty good job. Quiet. Easy to use.
Easy to install, operate. Washes well. Too early to say how sturdy this product is and about technical support.

Not worth the money.
First of all, the good side of it. Does do a d*** good job of washing dishes that much? I will give it however, the flimsy materit's cheap workmand poor quality casters all make it's worth so much less. Then what is being charged for it? A good dishwasher? I would pay serious money for and not have any qualms about doing it. This one however, I feel very, very much like. I paid an extreme amount over what the thing is actually worth overall. I'm very disappointed in the complete product.. First of all, upon arrival, the outer cthing was so obviously just flimsy. Cheap metal based on the fact that when we took it out of a box, it was already folded in 3 different places. Then within about a week, the caster started falling apart and the bearing started falling out of the casters. The sprayers so far have worked out well and the racks have worked out well. The hoses, however, are always leaking and always have To be retytened over and over and over again. I'm usually a person who is quite impressed with Danby products. But I have to say on this one I give it a fail.

Dishwasher is quiet, works great!
The dishwasher is a nice quiet dishwasher! The delivery was horrible they left it out in the sidewalk basically! They didn’t knock at our door just dropped off 8-9 ft away from the door!

Great machine
We’ve had this dishwasher for almost 2 years and have been very pleased. It was great for our small kitchen and it’s just the 2 of us. We run it almost daily.
