This is my 3rd lock in 2 weeks I bought. I returned the other two because it was so difficult to lock or unlock them and the key actually got stuck in one and I couldn't get it out. I've spent about 3 hours looking at the different locks on amazon. This is my 3rd purchase. The mechanism is so smooth. Locks and unlocks so smoothly and no difficulties at all. There is a Gold Secure rating of Silver (rating 12 out of 18) and Gold (rating 17 out of 18). The 5 foot silver rating(the one I got) is about 4# vs the Gold rating about 8#. The price difference was like $50. I elected for the silver because of the weight. If you live in high risk area of theft, I would buy the Gold rating. Haven't used it, but playing with it out of the package I'm happy. Every lock I looked at previously, someone had complained/had picture of the lock jamming. I did not see any reviews where this was the case with this lock. The thought of locking up your bike and then unable to get it unlock would be a nightmare/costly to call a locksmith.So far, I'm a happy camper.

Don't know why they send out these reviews so soon. Just got the thing. Haven't used it but it sure looks STRONG. Heavy hardened chain. The lock works smoothly, nice. I think I'll like it a lot.

I also own a Kryptonite lock that I thought was good before I purchased this lock. The magnetic locking mechanism eliminates the fumbling around with the key while also holding the chain in order to engage the bolt. Word to the wise, however: get the longest chain.

This is everything it was advertised to be. I don't lock my bike in risky locations so sometime it feels a bit silly. But it sure as hell is not going to be stolen.

Bought this along with the Seatylock Mason U lock to secure my ebike. Together they weigh 10lbs which is negligible with e-assist. It looks sturdy and is just long enough to secure the frame, back wheel to most bicycle parking rails. It's also easy to lock. As for the U lock (11.8in version), it would be perfect if it was 1/4 in wider and longer to secure the front mid-fat tire to the frame. Right now, it takes some time to find the sweet spot. Still too short to secure the front wheel to a bike rail.
