Love these!!!
Okay, I am a 4A/B all natural. I have been natural for about 3 years now and my hair is just past my arm pit in stretched out. I saw various Youtube videos using these and I had to try them. I normally keep my hair in protective styles, mainly 2 strand twists. I was ready to change it up a bit. All I can say is BELIEVE THE HYPE! These things really do work, even on kinky curly 4 natural hair. My hair is shiny, bouncy, and it absolutely looks like a blow dried, flat irons, then spiraled on hot curlers - it is that straight and the curls that defined. However, absolutely no heat touched my hair.Yes, these are expensive. But honestly, to get this style in a salon you would pay at least this amount of money. Now, I can do this style whenever I please. An added bonus is that I no longer have to use any heat to do a length check - these smooth out my hair so much and get it so straight that I can do a length check by simply pulling out the spiral. I no longer have any reason for heat to touch my hair (I was using heat around twice a year for a length check). How I did mine:1. Watch several Youtube videos with ladies of your hair texture doing demos. I was able to see a lot of different techniques and feel comfortable with the process before I started. This saved me from making any big mistakes.2. Section and dry detangle hair.3. Washed and conditioned my hair. Normally I just co-wash, but I had been swimming in a pool with chlorine and needed to do a full wash.4. Put in a bit of leave in conditioner (I use Kinky Curly Knot today). I didn't use as much as i normally use with twists - no need to saturate, just give a good amount to each section.5. Tee shirt dry hair. Yes, just that - wrap an old tee shirt around the hair to get a bit of the water out (towels are too drying for my hair). I wanted my hair damp, but not soaking wet.6. For each section I put on shea butter to lock in the moisture. I followed that up with using coconut oil and Kinky Curly perfectly polished. Honestly, I could have used any hair oil in place of the Kinky Curly - I also like jojoba or sweet almond oil, and I use olive oil daily on my hair.7. Place the rods one section at a time. I used more than one kit. I had originally purchased one kit here on Amazon. I didn't want the sections too big, so I realized I was going to run out. I sent my husband to the store (because I was looking crazy with a bunch of rods in my hair). Here is a BIG thing that I learned (aside from even sending husband to the store with the insert from the box, he can still manage to pick up the wrong thing) - natural girls with growing hair NEED EXTRA LONG and WIDE ONLY!! My husband got another kit(I only wanted a few more rods), but he got a long and wide kit instead of an extra long. My hair was too long for the long rods. Often times, since our hair curls so much, we don't realize just how long it is. It has been over 6 months since I did a length check and I didn't realize just how long my hair had gotten because I have so much shrinkage. Ladies, if you hair touches your shoulder in its kinky state (think twists) you need EXTRA LONG and WIDE.8. I used about 50 rods total. It took around 1 hour to place them all (I got out of rhythm after my break when hubby went to the store and I also did my daughter's hair).9. I slept with them in. Now, I will admit that "sleep" probably isn't the best word for what I did. I was able to get some sleep, but these things aren't comfortable to sleep in. No silk scarf or anything simply because I didn't have anything that would fit around my head.10. Took them out in the morning and ohh la la!! Sexy, bouncy, shiny spirals that are amazing! They are soft to the touch (I didn't use any spray, spritz, or anything else) and I am not walking around trying to be careful. They are holding their shape, framing my face, and giving me an entirely new look. This isn't going to be a "go to" style for me. I still like protective styles for my hair. However, I will definitely be rocking these about once a month to give my husband a little eye candy and a bit of a change. My daughter wants me to try them in her hair. I will probably use the long and wide for her since she is just 5 - so her hair is shorter and there is no way she will be able to sleep in them.Biggest advice:Watch videos of people that know how to put these in, then find a technique that works for you.Damp hair provides a much better final product than dry hairSmaller sections give a much more sleek and defined curl than larger sectionsAllow the hair to completely dry before you take them outUse a good moisture sealant (shea butter, coconut oil, any other butters you might use)If you have really thick hair, you may need a few extra rods - so look into adding a smaller package in with this salon kit.Save yourself the trouble and get the Extra Long and Wide rods, don't even bother with the Long and Wide. Curly girls have really long hair - shrinkage just masks the length. However, these stretch your hair and pull it straight - you will be dealing with closer to your true length with will probably give a 4 A, B, and even C an extra 2 - 4 inches of length.Happy Spirals Ladies!!

Healthy Trimmed Ends Prevent Tangly Frustrations Y'all
UPDATE: If your curls flatten out, it's probably the cut. Ask your stylist to give you more layers and use thinning shears and watch your curls turn out way better. I loved my Crea Clip but it just didn't give the quality layers for fabulous curls.So. Many. Compliments. I had given up on having hair that curled nicely in the low-humidity desert. I tried little foam rollers, they just tangled and frizzed. I tried curl cream and a diffuser; that was a limp greasy mess. My hair will curl in humid climates with a little mousse, but not here. Curlfomers require finesse. And some grunting. You'll be grunting. Watch youtube tutorials, slow down, and take smaller sections. A hairdresser told me recently I have A TON OF SUPER THICK HAIR. I always thought it was average. It's not ethnic or anything. I was worried I was going to run out of curlformers, but I had two left when I was done. My hair is fifteen and-a-half inches long (to my bra strap in the back when it's straight), so I got the twenty-two inch curlers. It took me an hour to get these bad boys in (UPDATE: my hair has grown exponentially since using a rubber scalp massager on the daily, and now pokes out of the ends of these curlers slightly. Love it). It's an ordeal. But the results are pretty amazing. Twenty-four hours after I took the curlformers out I was a little put off by the minimal frizz and moderate tangling, especially underneath layers. I'm used to smooth hair. A slippery oil helps a lot, like jojoba or Coconut Miracle Oil. I didn't use any other products except dry shampoo at the roots. I don't like the feeling of products in my hair.1st photo: Day 1 before I separated the curls.2nd photo: Day 2 after sleeping on a silk pillowcase and separating the curls carefully. I was pretty careful the first day. After that I put it up in a bun with Spin Pins and that helped the curls relax.3rd photo: Day 4 after more oil and finger-combing to get rid of tangles.4th photo: Day 4 again, right after a workout. That's my tired face. The price isn't justified, for goodness sake. And I probably won't use these every week. I had to miss a workout to wash my hair and get them in during the kids' nap time. I cannot imagine sleeping in these. My head started to ache a bit after a couple hours of just wandering around in them. One thing I made sure to do was brush my hair up, and position the curlformers at the top of my head, sliding the wand upward so I would have volume. I definitely recommend these, just do your research. Watch other people struggle with them before you try it.UPDATE:I use these about once a month, and it only takes me 40min. To put them in now. They do take some hairs with them when removed. My head doesn't ache anymore. They need to air dry for six hours. Six.I got Foxybae Flaminglow leave in cream conditioner in my Ipsy bag and it works beautifully to detangle and not leave a gunky feeling. It kept tangles away for days, even better than the slippy oils....I just used these again after taking a few months off, and the process was more frustrating than I remembered, and I had a hard time keeping my hair detangled in the following days. Then I realized I was due for a trim. My crispy damp ends kept getting caught. If you're throwing up your hands and screaming in frustration, cut your hair and try again.ANOTHER UPDATE:I got prettier curls when my hair was a layerous 15".22" just doesn't hold curl as nicely, and the top flattens out. I usually do my hair big and smooth with large foam rollers and I love my length for that, but I'm thinking about whacking off a few inches so I can get prettier curls again with these. I think that's it. 15" was the sweet spot for me.

Takes practice and a lot of patience! But worth it.
I really like these curlers. The only reason I gave them a 4 out of 5 is because there’s a learning curve. They’re pretty comfy but not comfy enough to sleep in unless you’re a heavy sleeper which I am not lol. I was about to brush out the curls and I actually missed two on the bottom that’s how unnoticeable some of them are depending on where they are on your head. They are light enough that I wouldn’t mind wearing them around the house for a few hours. I only wore them for about an hour, half an hour I waited for my hair to dry, blow dried my hair and then waited a little longer. Worked perfect! Pretty easy to put in once you get the hang of it. I sectioned my hair into two sections top and bottom. The trick is to be mindful of how big each section of hair you’re putting in the curler, it can’t be too big or it will rip your hair and won’t go in the curler. Twist the very top of your hair and hook it, then I pinched the rubber tube opening so that the hair could go through easier. You have to bring the curler a little over your hair and point the wand upwards. The only part that annoyed me was every other curler I had to reform, parts of it would get kinked and would be straight. It’s easy to reform but just adds extra time. The curlers are much easier to take out! I put my finger in the outside of the curl and straightened it out and pinched the rubber end open and my hair slid right out and the curl popped out beautiful! It looks so pretty once you brush and form the curls. My hair is pin straight, an extra tip I figured out is not using conditioner when you wash your hair. The conditioner weights the hair down and your curls will go away quicker, at least for my hair. Would definitely recommend these curlers if you have the time and patience to put them in!

Love...love...love.
I've tried curling my hair for over 20Years and suck at it. UNTIL NOW. Yes, everything takes time to learn but I love these and want to own every type they have. I'm so happy with these.

Great fun
Great fun to ringlet hair, a bit tricky to do with no help but my daughters can manage to do each others and it’s all good fun. Half hoped would be ok to sleep in but although my teenager once did there was no way I could!! Too uncomfortable. Have yet to try with setting lotion which has to be the way forward….

Buen producto, longitud incorrecta
