It fits fine on general 20 kW.It was a bit pain to install as this is bit better and heavy then original one. But it worked like charmYou can't beat the priceIt has been couple of moths since I install and have no problemSo far

Bought one for my 15KW Generac. It is Rareelectric part no. 67595. The solenoid casing was destroyed in shipping. Ordered another, but while waiting for a replacement, I spent some time looking at the Rareelectric product. It is shorter and has a larger diameter motor housing. It is not a true direct replacement product that will use the rear casing support. Not a big deal. But, the issue that has me very concerned is the fact that the original starter pinion gear has 9 teeth and the Rareelectric part has 8 teeth. Now the tech department verified that I received the correct replacement part for my GT990 Generac engine, and, that they have sold over 600 of them with few returns, but it still makes me very nervous to turn the switch on. If the pinion and ring gear don't mesh happily, then you will have to make a very costly repair. In fact, unless you do it yourself, you might as well toss out the whole generator. People say it works fine herein, but I'm still freaking out to hit that start switch. Not cool.

Although not OEM, this starter was a good value choice to get my generator up, and running again.The only negative I found is that the body is 1-1/4" shorter than the original motor, That left the rear bracket unusable. Since there were no information with the starter stating that it would be okay to function long term without it, I took the extra time to make a bracket, thus re leaving my concerns of the starter vibrating loose. If it wasn't for the fact this was a DYI job, the extra time spent, would have negated the $20 saved from purchasing an OEM unit.

I am very pleased with this starter. Getting the old one out was actually the hard part. Putting this new one in was a breeze. It is a little shorter than the original one, and as such the original rear bracket is rendered useless, but otherwise it works perfectly. Buying this through Amazon and installing it myself saved me well over hundred dollars, maybe even two hundred over the price I was quoted by the Generac repairman.

So far so good. Installed a few weeks ago and no issues. Generator is turning much faster now during startup.
