Laugh at the cold
These things are great! If your hands stay warm, your whole body feels warm. They take a little while to warm up, so you need to plan ahead and open the package a few minutes before you need them, but once they get going, they stay warm for hours. They are so small, light and cheap you can keep an extra pack in the pocket of your jacket and have them ready any time you need them. These should be in every car's winter survival kit. We've been using these for years and have been very happy with them.An added bonus is they are made in USA. That's pretty rare these days.

Bad Case?
I have used this product in the past with general satisfaction. I ordered a case of 12 ten packs at start of ski season last year and when I finished my old ones that I had had for several years and I was worried they may be going bad, I then started on my new ones and they did not warm up nearly as good as the old ones. I continued to use them all winter and even started to use 2 in each glove to try and get more warmth. I just tried to use some more of them and they will not even heat up at room tempature. I checked return policy at Amazon, and the chance of return has passed last year. So I have well over 70 of these that have expiration date of Sept. 2013 (2 1/2 years away) that are totaly useless. Order at your peril. I guess I will try contacting manufacturer to see if I have any recourse?

Nice to Buy a Product that Works
These HeatMax Hothands do exactly as they say they will. I just take the little white pouches, shake them up for about a minute and set them aside for 15 to 30 minutes and they are hot. I put them in my top dresser drawer and go back for them when I'm ready. They get hot. They are not the kind of hot that burns. They do heat for 10 hours. In fact, I've found they heat a little more than 10 hours. After they are used they are to be thrown out. You can't shake them again and get a second use out of them. I love these hothands. I'll definitely keep going back for more.

30 Minute is not very instant
Watch out! These things may be cheap..but they also take up to 30 minutes to heat up. No where does it say that untill you buy the product and open it.Giving out to homeless and this will be an interesting problem to deal with.

Warm not Hot Hands
If I were designing this product it would produce 2 or 3 times as much heat and last 1/2 or 1/3rd the time. That said, it saves me frost bitten fingers every morning when I walk the dog in my arctic circle hometown in upstate New York. Then it keeps my gloves warm for 10-12 additional hours.

Five Stars in my opinion. READ THE DIRECTIONS. Amazes me how many do not.
I consider these to be the most wonderful thing on the market for cold hands and/or having to work or play outdoors. Read the directions carefully., Those that didn't do so reviewed them badly,. Shake them for 2 or 3 minutes after opening the pair. They are air activated. Some seem to heat up quicker than others and sometimes this can take 15 to 30 minutes after shaking them for 2 or 3 minutes., Plan ahead. If you are going out to scoop snow or work in the cold, give them the half hour they may need. If they cool down later, shake them again for another few seconds. The first pair I tried out were hot for 11 hours.. If you read the directions and follow them, you won't be disappointed. If you expect the heat to happen instantly then don't buy them. They are environmentally friendly and made in the USA., When they are no longer hot, put them in your trash can. Used by thousands of ranchers, farmers and outdoorsmen and winter sportsmen. At Walgreens, they are $3.00 per pair. From Amazon you will do much better than that. 12 - 10 pair packs for less than $20 is better than you will find anywhere,. Mine don't expire until 2019., You simply cannot do better than this for a bit of comfort in the cold!!

Work in a freezer
I work in a food warehouse freezer where the temperature is constantly between 0 and 8 degrees F. I would not be able to do so without these hand warmers. I use two pair every day: 1 pair in my leather mittens and 1 pair in my shoes in the toe. The hand warmers work virtually the full 8 work hours, as long as they can 'breath' occasionally. I've been using them this way for almost a year now and never had one tear or break. The price I paid for this set (12 x 10 pairs) was the best I've found.
