I see a lot of reviews saying it stops working after a few months so will have to see. I do notice it makes a high pitched whining sound (only noticeable in a quiet environment or when close to your ear) coming from the torch head when on low and medium brightness but goes quiet on full beam so that seems strange?Better news is that the supplied Lithium battery is 900mah and not 750 as described here and in the instruction leaflet, so the run times should be longer than listed.I find the 100 lumens low beam plenty bright for most uses so that should mean more than the 7 hours run time listed for the 750mah version more likely 8-9 hours.With an AA battery the high mode is only 100 lumens and listed at 4hrs so the lithium battery is much better but an AA is fine if needed. or if you want lower light mode lumen levels.The beam looks much better using the Lithium battery also with not so much green corona surrounding the centre hot spot and it a nice neutral colour temp.Think that's my main points other than I like holding it with the head at 90 degrees and good magnet, lockout etc It's fun setting it on high mode and then switching it off and on again as you do get a surprise at the good brightness it puts out and it does not got hot quickly either so it copes well with the higher lithium battery power.Must remember not submergible waterproof so not to drop it into water but rain or a splash should be fine.Handy to have in or on a backpack or jacket pocket. Just hope it lasts a decent time as in longer than a few months but I have a Lumintop Tool AA 2.0 arriving tomorrow so will have a spare and be interesting to see how that compares as very similar spec but yes at present liking this Nicron B74 quite well.Edit added: Got the Lumintop and it heats up very quickly using the lithium battery on high setting and it's a much cooler light. I prefer the Nicron warmer light. The Lumintop is a little smaller but I prefer the Nicron for my larger male hands and I prefer the Nicron side button (which clicks very nicely) over the Lumintop tail switch. Would have liked a quick double click to switch on the Nicron rather than holding the button but it does switch on fairly fast. The Lumintop does work well with an AA battery but with lower power so I will probably use it like that. Anyhow I have now ordered another of these Nicron to have a spare B74 as this is my favourite though I also bought a Sofirn IF25A and that is a great torch for some much greater brightness and can highly recommend that one also though it's twice the price for the Nicron but you definitely get twice the brightness. I like all 3 of these torches.

I'm very impressed with this little torch. The build quality is excellent. The rechargeable AA battery that can be swapped out for a regular AA battery is genius. The light is plenty bright enough for most tasks. Household, walks etc. It's not going to light up 200' down the street, but for a small pocket torch it's perfectly functional. The swivel on the head is very smooth and so useful. Can be moved one handed and works great in all positions. Both the pocket clip and the magnetic base work well, and gives you many options as to how to carry or locate the torch. The 'glow ring around the lens is also a nice touch. Not something I'd have thought about, but if you drop the torch while it's off the feature is a great help. I had been using a little energizer torch with an angled head but this has replaced that as it's an big upgrade in both form and function. I paid £22 and it was well worth it. I've seen them selling for over £30 elsewhere. If I lost this one, I'd really miss it, and would certainly replace it if I could find one for under £25 again.

I bought this for my husband as a little Christmas gift, it is very well made, out of good solid materials and the brightness & range of different light uses are very good.We were so pleased with this light my husband bought one for me so I didn’t keep pinching his.If you want a very bright small torch you won’t go wrong if you buy one of these, it is bloody brilliant.

Works very well. Certainly waterproof - gone through the washer.Is awkward to keep off and often turns off in my jeans pocket when walking.A great torch that’s very bright and durable.

Definitely the best torch I ever used.

Super handy and compact, the swivel head is a game changer! You can rotate it to 90 degrees and clip it to your top pocket, super useful for hands free operation. The build quality is superb and the brightness is more than ample. I’m very happy with this torch, it has saved me a lot of hassle on a number of occasions.

An excellent little torch with many good features. A really powerful beam. I can’t fault it. Will be buying another one. Very robust and the magnet on the end combined with the rotating head make it a very handy torch for breakdowns etc as you can stick it to the side of the car or tank/frame of a motorbike then rotate the head to where you need the light. I’m really impressed.

Ich besitze bereits teure Winkel Taschenlampen (90,- EUR) und habe mir diese gekauft, um eine einfach immer dabei zu haben. Ein Teure habe ich schon verloren und der Finder wird sich freuen.Diese Lampe setzt die kleinen lio Akkus ein (14500), der am Akku eine Ladebuchse für Micro-USB hat. Funktioniert gut, Nachteil man muss den Akku aus der Taschenlampe entfernen.Der Winkelkopf lässt sich von 90° stufenfrei auf 180° drehen. Das ist sehr praktisch, da man das Licht vielleichter dort hin bekommt, wo man es braucht. Der Magnet ist ausreichend kräftig, um die Lampe sicher - auch kopfüber - zu halten.Die Licht Funktionen sind intuitiv zu nutzen. Die 700 Lumen passen auch. Klar, gibt viel hellere aber wenn man z.B. am Motorrad oder Auto kurz mal was basteln will, dann ist die Helligkeit völlig ok. Und natürlich auch für den Spaziergang. Die Lampe ist meiner Meinung nach mehr für den Nahbereich bis ca. 20 Meter.Die Lampe kommt mit den üblichen O-Ring Dichtungen daher. Wie dicht die sind, habe ich nicht getestet und ist für mich nicht relevant, da ich keine Taucherlampe wollte ;-) Einen starken Regen dürfte die Lampe locker wegstecken und kurzes Wässern in einer Pfütze oder ähnliches sicher auch.Wie gesagt, nicht getestet.
