Q: If you take these down do they leave a residue where the tape stuck to the wndow frame? I live in a rental that already had blinds I can't take down.

So i glued them on the ceiling not on the blinds

Q: Can these be installed on the wall outside of the window frame ?

I have 4 of these! All are on the wall or on wood frame around window. Doesn't have to be inside. Do what you want. If doesn't stick just use tiny white or whatever color tack nails on each end and in middle. Mine all stay though with no nails

Q: will these work on an oval-shaped window? My window is divided with rectangular dimensions on the bottom and a decorative oval shape at the top.

Measure the oval shape window with the rectangular dimensions of the window shade and see if it covers. If 36" is larger than the width and 75" is longer than the height of your oval-shaped window it will cover.
