Fisher-Price Octonauts Barnacles Plush

Very cute plush of Captain Barnacles. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars because it would have been perfect if he had resembled his cartoon-self more. This might not bother most people but as a design major, details really matter to me. Part of reason why Captain Barnacles is so dang cute is because of those eyes, but the size and location of the eyes on this plush are not accurate (which is really not a difficult thing to get right!) And while the cartoon Barnacles does have a much larger head than body, if they had made the plush's body just a little bigger, he wouldn't keep doing a bomb dive out of yours or your child's hand while being held.It's probably the good ole cut-backs in production costs that is to blame... But hey, if you're not picky, then you'll probably adore this little guy!

As longtime fans of the Octonauts we have been looking for a plush Barnacles. The only place we could previously find him was at ebay and they were all overseas sellers. I am so happy to finally be able to purchase him from an actual business in the USA. Now on to the actual review! This Barnacles plush is very cute. He is roughly about 9 inches from the very top point of his hat to the bottom of his feet. This is a perfect size for kids to haul around. His face is made of very soft white fur. He has his little blue "mustache" and black embroidered eyes. His body is made of a thinner silky blue material. His boots are also made of this silky material but a slightly lighter shade. The brim of his hat, collar, and belt (which even has his octocompass on it!) are made from a kind of flat foam material. Overall this is a super cute plush that any Octonauts fan young or old will love!!

Much smaller than the picture makes it seem. Not worth $30 but it’s seems like all Octonaut stuff is over priced. He is soft and cute. It will fool a toddler but not as detailed as the cartoon character.

We bought all three- Kwazii, Peso, and Barnacles and our two and a half year old son loves them. He watches Octonauts everyday and these plushes are shaped exactly like them. I often find that plush dolls don't look exactly like characters because the company doesn't get the eyes right, or the coloring is off, etc. These look just like the characters and coloring is perfect. If your child or whoever you are getting these for likes the Octonauts, they will love this. I just wish they had all of the team but these are the best characters to start out with for now!My son has had them for a month now and they have held up fine so far. The size is also perfect for a younger child because they can easily grip them since the bodies aren't too big. They also match up with each other perfectly size-wise as you can see in my picture below.

Captain Barnacles is the perfect addition for Kwazzi, their both the same height. Barnacles hat is adorable and secured pretty well so is his belt. I think we've had him or maybe 2 weeks now and everything seems intact, mind you this is for my 3 year old who loves the octonauts. I'm sure many other parents would agree that 3 years olds are a little rough with everything lol so him and kwazzi are great.At first I did expect them to be a little bigger but this size is great, barnacles can be carried everywhere and he's not in the way plus he fits in a little backpack. We're waiting on Peso to get here and hopefully they make the rest of the crew like Tweak, Inkling, Shellington ect.

This small bear is my daughter's favorite toy! It has stood up to being dragged all over the playground and slept with every night, even a few washes in a garment bag on hand wash cycle in the washing machine. Would definitely recommend to any octonaughts fans.

My son loves the Octonauts. Seriously. We wanted to get him a little treat so we bought the three larger plushes and he adores them! He watches the show and cuddles them, he plays with them and his plush fish (aquarium toys--this child loves fish!) and snuggles with them at night and they work just as well as a cuddle buddy and a regular toy. They're well made and I love that Barnacles' belt even has his compass. Everything seems securely sewn on and the fabrics are soft and decorated well. If your little one loves Octonauts, these bedtime friends are a must-have.

Came on time and I was extremely satisfied with this product.So I bought this toy for my nephew for Christmas thinking it was just going to be a small plush that he can fit in his hand. But when it came in the mail I was pleasantly surprised to find it was maybe triple the size I thought it would be which for me wasn't a bad thing. I just wish I would of bought the other 2 dolls for the price I paid for, it was a Steal!!!( its not a HUGE doll, just not a Tiny doll )
