It fits
This Fotsay lens hood fits perfectly on my Lumix 14mm lens and has threads on the outer edge allowing me to add a lightweight matte box device. The matte box will help in providing more range for balancing on a gimbal as the camera & lens are too back heavy, limiting my gimbal's f/b range of motion. Without the lens hood I would not be able to do that.Beyond the above being metal -lightweight alloy- the hood will further protect the lens from the inevitable bump or two. The cap snaps in easily and stays in place very well.I typically don't give 5 star reviews but I cannot find fault with this particular lens hood.

Fits great, works well, good price
It's a straightforward product. People who said they can't install a filter on this -- well no kidding. Put this hood on over your lens filter (hopefully you have a lens filter with an external screw mount).People who said you can't reverse this for storage -- no duh. It very clearly states it is a screw type mount and not a bayonet mount like they were somehow expecting. Plus, there is no bayonet-style hood mount on the 14mm f/2.5, so I don't know what they are smoking.Great, durable product. I carry this in my daily bag either mounted on my GX1 or in a separate OP/TECH case, protected by a thin layer of neoprene. Hasn't suffered any damage yet and I am not the gentlest with my gear. Great value at this price.

Who needs the lens cap, anyway?
Lens hoods for the Lumix Micro Four Thirds lenses seem to be mostly an afterthought - and are simply non-existent for the 14mm and 20mm lenses, the two I use the most. So, I was pleased to see this item recently appear. Nicely built, light, attractive, and reasonably priced, they screw into the 46mm threads on the lens (or filter). Although they don't shield a lot of light, due to their low profile, they do the job with one caveat: you can't use the lens caps with these hoods installed. Because of this, their low profile is actually a blessing. I know some professionals claim to throw the lens caps away. Leaving these screwed in provides some measure of protection without taking up much space; they have convinced me to abandon my lens caps.

It does the job, but doesn't allow for the lens cap.
This lens hood is small and nice. Not bad looking at all. Its small size goes very wellwith the Olympus OM-D/Pana Leica 25mm.The build quality's good as well. However, once you screw in this hood to lens body, you can no longer put the lens cap on(-2 stars). I don't like the idea ofnot being able to put back the lens cap on.It's just me, it might not matter to you.I was going to return this thing but Amazon charges as much as the price ofthe item itself(thought the return was free for a Prime member...it was "only" easy like Amazon says, but not free!)...so I guess I'll have to keep it, and instead I give this review in return.Might follow up with an update if/when I get to use it later on.Thanks,

Great hood for Panasonic 20mm 1.7 II lens
Looks very much like an OEM part, and fits in well with my Panasonic 20mm 1.7 II lens. Of course it extends the lens a bit, and the way it screws in makes it look like a zoom lens that's partially extended all the time. But it does its job well, feels like a quality item and I don't think I'd take this lens anywhere without it at this point. The only downside is that you can't use filters sized for the lens with the hood - you have to either get new filters to fit the hood, or take the hood off to use filters (the hood isn't necessary in all situations anyway).I've seen some others complain about the lens cap this hood comes with, but mine fits perfectly and also looks stock. It just doesn't have any branding on it. It clamps firmly to the hood.

But the shape after applying it to the lens is not good. Original hood is better than this
I bought this hood for my panasonic lumix leica dg summilux 25mm F1.4 lens. But the shape after applying it to the lens is not good. Original hood is better than this. The quality of hood is also not good and not finely made.Another point is together selling lens cap(55mm) is not fit to this hood. The cap is bigger than hood.It is the most terrible purchase I have ever experienced in amazon.

what's not to like?
I am using this with a 14/2.5 pancake lens on my Panasonic G2. The hood is metal, feels well made and is easy to use. I feel it improves the ergonomics by giving you something to grip with your other hand while taking pictures. Otherwise, the pancake lens is too small. As others have mentioned, it accepts 55mm accessories. It has 55mm filter thread. I use a generic 55mm lens cap on it instead of the 46 Lumix lens cap that came with the 14/2.5 lens. Very nice product, great value and it greatly enchances my camera's ergonomics in addition to blocking unwanted light as a lens hood.

Ignore the title: there is no metal.
Works fine but NOTHING about this is metal. It is all light plastic.

The hood is perfect but the cap that come with the hood is ...
The hood is perfect but the cap that come with the hood is too big. The cap is 55 mm which is not fit the hood. I have 52 mm cap and it fits well. Therefore, my recommendation is not to buy the cap that come with this hood.
