Nintendo Selects: Super Mario 3D World - Wii U Standard Edition

From my 10-year-old son:This game is really great! It has a few notable differences from normal Mario games. Number one, duh, Hence the title. It’s in 3D. Number two, the power-ups are very different, such as raccoon transformations. Number three, instead of Bowser kidnapping Princess Peach, he captures little fairy-like princesses in jars.We thought we would need nunchuks to play this game with more than 1 player, so we were glad to find out we didn’t.The only bad thing about it is that there is no split screen, so if Luigi is trying to kill some enemies or collect a hidden block, and Mario, Peach, and Blue Toad move on without him, the screen moves with them, Luigi goes offscreen, and if he doesn’t come back on in a few seconds, he will float over in a bubble. Also, while someone is offscreen, they can still take damage, and it’s very hard to dodge a goomba in 3D while offscreen, so if a scenario like this happens with an enemy, the player is most likely to die, costing the team a life, and the player whatever powerup they had, if any.Other than that, though, it is an awesome game, really fun to play with friends.

I got this game as a birthday present for my 10 year old son and he absolutely loves it! He loves the way the characters have different abilities and how it's a challenge but not impossible to play. He complains about how the levels are timed but I, personally, like the way that this game evokes the old Mario game play. He enjoys having different ways to uncover stars or stun enemies by having to blow into the mic or tapping on the screen. (His mind will be blown by Mario Party) It's nice too because I can tell him to play a few levels and know he can't claim he's still trying to get to the end if I know he only has a few minutes at a time. As with all the Mario games, this one builds on the details laid down by previous games. It's fun to look at and explore the levels, especially with the catchy music.This is definitely worth getting for the Wii U.

Can't wait to play this version of the game, but when I got it in it is the Malaysia / Singapore region of the game. Reading online it appears mixed if this will work in a US Wii U, so I am returning mine. I would rather buy used and know it is a legit copy of the game than have a new disc that may not work in system and then can't be returned. There as no mention on the detail page about the region disparity, barely even noticed when I removed from the package.On other hand it was delivered well and came in good condition.The game itself is a cool take on Mario with simultaneous multiplayer.

I ordered this for my husbands Easter basket and it has been a blast! We knew he would enjoy it but the whole family has gotten in on the game at one point or another and love he challenge along with the option to play together. There are so many worlds and details to work on and complete along with finding green stars and stamps. Even after we complete a level we often find ourselves going back to play again just to see what we missed during the first play of a level. It's a great game for everyone of all ages from adults, to teens, to even younger kids. It's bright, challenging and just a whole lot of fun!

Ever since I bought a wifi u I always wanted to buy this game but at 60$ dollars? No thank you, but when Nintendo announced they were launching another batch of Nintendo selects I was hyped! Other then the excellent price this game is the best 4 player platformer I have ever played. Just get 3 buddies and get ready for a crazy ride! All the levels are huge and beautifully designed! And that cat power up adds a whole new level of interaction! If you have a wii u there is no excuse not to buy this

Super Mario 3D world is another solid first party game from Nintendo. Another variation on Mario's "rescue the distressed against the evil Koopa" story, Mario and his companions (Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad) travel to another land to save fairy's against King Koopa. I have to say a Wii U gamepad is NEEDED to play certain levels. If one isn't there, some levels will not be available to play which will hamper the player experience. This will not prevent a player from completely advancing, just leading to missed opportunity until a gamepad is available. While the Nintendo Switch version solves this gamepad problem, the Wii U version is far easier on the wallet pricewise. So if someone has both systems and is contemplating getting the Switch or Wii U version consider this: Switch($50-$60)/Wii U($20)

This is probably the most accessible 3d mario game in the series. The majority of levels in each world are easy or moderate in terms of difficulty. But every once in awhile you will encounter a level that is pretty difficult. The great thing is that if you fail a course a few times that game will give you an invincibility power-up. You can still die from falling into lava or a bottomless pit but regular enemies die upon contact or in the case of bosses, can push you back but not inflict damage. The game also has time limits and lots of hard to reach stars and stamps so even those who do not care for easy games will find something to enjoy.My only issue with the game is that a few levels require you to have a certain number of green stars in order to access them. This wasn't really a problem until world seven. It's not too hard to earn stars but certainly presents a roadblock to those who do not go out of their way to collect extras in games. Other than that the games is pretty much flawless and one of the best 3d platformers.

Super mario 3d world may be similar to it's counter part of super mario 3d land, but this game is just way more fun as you can play with up to 4 players making it more easy and enjoying. The disc came in perfect condition and it's a blast to play. The controls are easy and you'll get the hang of it very fast. I've only played through world 1 with my little brother and we were having a blast. Very quick shipping with no problems.

Como siempre un juego de Mario es sinonimo de calidad y diversión, espacialemte en la actualidad donde existen pocos juegos que se puedan disfrutar entre varias personas con una sola consola. Siempre es entretenido jugar con amigos y el caos que se ocasiona en los diferentes niveles y que todos puedan llegar al final, pero también es una bonita experiencia jugando en solitario.Las gráficas son bellisimas, muy coloridas y relajantes, en verdad llega a poner de buen animo pasar un rato viendo los niveles los cuales que si bien son cortos, siempre son entretenidos y van presentando mucha variedad conforma va avanzando el juego.

Es un juego increible, con horas de contenido, justo cuando crees que ya lo terminaste, aparecen mas niveles, apto para todas las edades y el modo cooperativo hasta para 4 jugadores es muy divertido
