Very Comfortable
I wear a street shoe in a 10.5 and I'm on the larger side of 10.5. I ordered A few sizes of these and settled on a 11. I wanted to have a comfortable fit. My toes are scrunched, but are not really curled that much. If I would have gotten the 10.5 it would have been a good fit with a curled toe. I wanted a more relaxed fit than that. I think if I wanted something where my toes were completely flat with no pressure on my big toe. I would have to size up a lot maybe a 12 or even 12.5. It's a climbing shoe so I would expect some pressure on my toes. It's not a tennis toe. I got the lace because my foot is very low volume.(If your foot is low volume I wouldn't even consider the VCS, I tried it and there's just way to much material) My forefoot is not narrow though. I have this shoe pulled pretty much as tight as it will go. If you have a really low volume foot. This shoe my not work for you. The liner for this shoe is the most comfortable I have ever felt. It's probably the best part of this shoe. It edges and smears well on slab. It does show it's weakness on overhanging routes. The last is not that stiff nor do I want it to be. I was looking for shoe that would smear well, would still edge, and would not kill my toes. This shoe fits that bill. I can wear it for hours without real discomfort. This is a quiver shoe for me and the shoe I will wear the most, but I also have a more aggressive shoe. If I were only going to get one shoe. I would probably get something else. (Miura, Arrowhead, Quantum, Prime SC, Pontas II). It would be a great beginner shoe if it did not cost as much as it does. (Defy or Defy lace)

First climbing shoe, highly recommended.
I read a few reviews about this shoe stretching after a few hours of climbing, if it does stretch its a very negligible amount. I would highly recommend trying this particular shoe on before ordering online. (Looking back, the description does say synthetic upper, and synthetic isnt supposed to stretch much at all) When I first wore the shoe it squished my toes and the only way they would fit is if I curled my toes, and the heel of my foot was also squished and sore after a few minutes of wearing them. After about 7-8 sessions in them I am more accustomed to wearing them and can wear them for about 2 hours without killing my feet. My toes are still curled and squished, but my heel is more comfortable than it was before. SO for size I normally wear about a 10.5, I bought an 11 thinking that would be enough, I should have gone one size hire for more comfort. That being said, I am very happy with the shoe, there is tons of grip and cups the heel well, I have never been worried about my foot coming out of the shoe. The laces are nice, they are ribbed so they wont come untied accidentally, I still double knot them just in case, I mean why not right? These are my first climbing shoes so I don't have anything to compare them to besides the Velcro ones that you rent at a local climbing gym, and they are way better than those, but that's to be expected right?

but not so fun when you need to child an edge for an ...
I've climbes in them 4-5 times now, both at the gym and on some rock. These shoes have very soft midsoles, making them beastly for smearing on granite, but not so fun when you need to child an edge for an extended time frame. Despite their small downturn, the have a pretty asymmetrical last, so you get good power out of your big toe. They are not quite aggressive enough for anything over hung unless you have expert footwork, but they are over all a great shoe. I sized up a half siz from my street shoe and the stonelands for great right out of the box, a little tight and a slight curl of the types until they get warmed up. I will be contacting 5.10 about a warranty issue, as the last is separating from the rubber on the outside of the right foot.

Really good climbing shoes for indoor climbing on concrete walls, but sizes run very small.
These shoes are great! Huge improvement over rental shoes at the indoor climbing gym. Great grip and good support. These run REALLY small, start at 2.5 sizes bigger than your street shoes. That's where I ended up and they are still a bit tight in the toes for walking around, but then, these aren't walking shoes. Synthetic uppers shouldn't stretch much, but just a bit of give and they would be perfect. Time will tell. If they stretch just a bit and wear well, I will change my review to 5 stars. Another plus is that they won't dye your feet funny colors unlike some of the brightly colored shoes.

Comfortable, decent performance, horrible durability
I normally wear a size 10.5 in street shoes. I run in 10.5 for my Brooks and Saucony running shoes. I wear a 43 in my La Sportiva Futuras, Testarossas, Katana laces, and Miura laces, which all fit me perfectly. Based on the reviews here, I ordered a size 11, fearing that the shoe would run too small. The Stonelands fit okay when you first put them on. I noticed that at the end of session they seem to feel a little loose. So if I was to order these again I would just order my true size (10.5/43).My main problem is that with light use (1-2 times a week, <5 months), there is already a tear in the leather at the medial side of the ankle of one of my shoes. I was excited to try a 5.10 shoe, because I've always heard their rubber is amazing. However, the durability of this shoe makes me wary of switching over from La Sportiva. I don't recommend these shoes.

Sizing is not correct
I get that different makers size things a little differently but like a previous reviewer, I can't find the right size. I wear a 10.5, ordered an 11 and I could hardly get it on. I thought the shoe was mislabled so to take size labeling out of it, my foot actually measures 10.75". The out side length of the shoe measured 10.25"- even with wanting a knuckled shoe there was no way I could fit my 10.75" inside it. Ordering the 12's , the outside lenghth of the shoe came in at 10.88" and although closer, this is still too tight to wear on multi pitch climbs, even anticipating some break in stretch.Again- I wear shoes now so tight, my toenails have litterally come off but these are just wrong sized.
