NOT a Hiking Shoe
I have owned many pairs of Teva Men's Raith eVent Waterproof Hiking Shoes. They are great; and a real hiking shoe. As I those shoes are no longer available, and because I really like Teva shoes, and need the waterproof hiking shoe, I looked for a replacement. I found this one. It had really good ratings. So, I bought them.As the ratings show, they fit well. They are really waterproof. However, these are NOT a hiking shoe. They are more of a soft-soled moccasin. You can feel every pebble and stone through the sole of the shoe. I took them to Mexico and Guatemala over the Christmas and New Years holidays. The walking was not like hiking in the mountains. It was horrible. I felt every pebble as I walked over the gravel paths. If you want a moccasin for home or walking on the wet lawn, this is a fantastic shoe. Just don't label it as a hiking shoe.

Dismal in wet conditions
If you want tho wear this shoe as an all-around daily shoe, its comfortable and great..warm too. However, as a hiking shoe Id say avoid. Why? They are horrible in anything wet. Living in Colorado, Ive now tried them on trails and pavement in snowy and wet conditions and they are downright dangerous as they provide very little traction. My soles were slightly wet and I stepped on a boulder with a very rough surface and they slipped on me. Very slippery in icy/snowy conditions. Im not biased as my other shoes are Teva's with a black, rugged vibram sole and those things are great in all the conditions mentioned above. Just be aware of how you would like to use these.

Arrowood 2 - A Great Improvement
As a long time Teva buyer (and lover) Arrowood 2 is an excellent improvement over version 1. The biggest change is that the soles are thicker and tougher. This change was needed and is appreciated. The lacing system is also better. The fit and finish is excellent as is usual for the Arrowoods. Above all, in my experience, Tevas are the only shoes that I have (and I have alot) that are truly Water-Proof! An excellent upgrade and a great shoe! I can't wait to try another pair. Thanks Teva! (one question - where is the Pecan color? I love those.)

Perfect Foul Weather Puddle/Hike Sneaker (Maybe Buy Up a 1/2 Size)
Sometimes the vented running shoes just don't cut it on a cold/wet day or its not so bad outside to be in the mood for a full boot. These are perfect for those gloomy/wet Nor Cal walking days (which we have not had for three weeks now...). Still, these are great, stylish and comfy in a rain shoe sort of way, its a wet weather "approach/trail/urban" shoe (my wife likes their looks) and though they do run slightly small (you may want to go up a half size of your normal) and while it does run from somewhat narrow width to medium width its probably not the best for a wide foot. My normal size is 11 C (I like slightly big toe box volume) and these are that size but maybe more like a 10 3/4, so they might fit slightly snug at first at your exact normal size, but only slightly and I think over the next few months of walking they will "pack out" and should be a perfect fit... but will have to update at that time and report back at that point. Meanwhile suits me perfect.

Good show, but disappointed in style
I owned the previous version of this shoe and was so disappointed that I didn't get a second pair. I didn't look closely enough at the picture, but the style changes that were made between the last version and this one don't appeal to me at all. I waited too long to return them as I was debating whether I'd be happy wearing them or not. Today is my first day, and they are just not great to look at (in my opinion). That said, the quality of the shoe, and the fact that it is waterproof makes it well worth owning if you like the look. Loved my last pair with the old styling. I'd give it 5 stars if I liked the design on the top-front of the shoe more. Call me picky, but that's my honest opinion.

Walking, not hiking
Very comfortable around town, walking on pavement, everyday good looking casual shoe. Not for off road. Only reason for 4 stars not 5 is that they're billed as hiking. If they were honest up front about the lighter construction, it would be 5. I love the shoes, but I would not take them on a 5 mile trail hike. Teva has another shoe for that, which i also own, and love.

Wanted dry feet....these are the ticket.
Bought them for my "yard shoes"....we get 200+ inches of rain a year. They look way too nice for walking the dogs or mowing grass... I now wear them to work. I suppose when they get beat up, I can then make them my yard shoes. I will probably order another pair for the original purpose.Comfy so far, a bit warm here in the tropics, but my feet stay dryJT.
