cracks and chips that I realized exactly how terribly abusive I am with my phone
This case was the same case I had used with my iPhone 4 so I absolutely had to order it when I received my 5s. When I used this case with the iPhone 4 it completely protected my phone. The case itself took a beating instead of my phone and when I upgraded to the 5s I noticed the old case had so many scratches, cracks and chips that I realized exactly how terribly abusive I am with my phone. The only thing you have to do is get a good screen protector for the front glass of your phone. I tend to drop my phone on the sidewalk face down when I walk my dog. Toward the end of my 4s's life, I chipped the glass screen on a rock that was sticking up out of a pebble and concrete sidewalk. The chip was minimal damage considering that I had failed to protect it. The case did an amazing job for many years (I keep my phone for a long time). I have had my new Incase for the 5s I have now and this time I paired it a screen protector just on the face of the phone that was meant to be used with a case (so it doesn't go all the way to the edge and leaves room for the case to slide on). The geek squad fellow who applied the screen protector to my 5s phone told me to wait 48 before putting my Incase on. I did what he said and had no problem getting the case on and it never disturbed the screen protector. They work harmoniously together. I've dropped my 5s phone many times already on a variety of surfaces and find it is well protected in this case. The spaces for the camera, charger, volume and power button align just fine. I need to use my nail to get the phone turned on and off because the on/off is shallow and the case is deeper but I rarely use that button so I'd rather have the protection than an easier time getting to the on/off button personally. Although I have not docked this model phone where I can review the part that slides off on the bottom, I can tell you that was a great feature to have with the Incase in this color with my iPhone 4. The COLOR is great too. It's a darker color but it's different enough to have my phone stand out when I go to pick my phone up from a table full of smart phones with black cases!

Really nice case -- not waterproof!!
4 stars means "I like it" and thats how I feel about this case. I bought an Incase for my iphone 5S because I had one for my old 3GS that lasted for almost 3 years. That thing took a serious beating and kept my phone nice and safe. I've now had this product for my 5S for a few months and here's how it has gone:A main reason to buy this case is it's compact size and light weight. I HATE bulky heavy cases in my pocket. This case brings solid protection with minimal increase in size and weight. Nice!In the few months I've had this case I have dropped the phone a few times. Mostly on wood or tile. No damage to case or phone. None at all. Case does not actually feel as sturdy as old 3GS case, but has done the job just fine so far.Case looks very sleek. Minimalist for sure, which was my goal. Case has resisted scratching. The matte finish is very comfortable to hold. The front wraps around the screen a bit so if you happened to drop it flat on the screen side the case would hit first. Case does not include further protection for the screen.Case is NOT waterproof. (It does not claim to be). I suggest you do not dunk your iphone in an open coffee cup, milk-and-cookies style, like I did. This case will not help you there... although my phone did recover, lord have mercy amen.Overall I am pleased with the value, look, feel and protection level of this Incase. Long as you keep your phone away from liquids it should protect your phone without adding much size and weight.

Solid Case
I did extensive research regarding what case to use after I wanted to replace my Speck Case. After a solid month with the case, I can say I definitely love the design. The slider feature I find rather unique, which I enjoy. The black casing is very smooth and aesthetically pleasing. It glides in and out of my pocket, it hasn't scratched or deteriorated in any fashion, (however, I do take good care of my belongings). It's offers a good sense of security in case the phone is dropped, which makes it a solid case. The only issue I've had with this phone is that if you do not apply a perfect screen protector, meaning there is no air bubbles on the corner, the case will cause the screen protector to lift from the screen and causes extra bubbles. This was a little frustrating at first, but after just taking off the screen protector, it actually made me enjoy the superb screen quality of the iPhone 5. So, in a way, it was a nice little surprise, and saved me the hassle from ordering more screen protectors. Note: I believe if you apply a perfect screen protector (around the corners at least) then you should be fine and you shouldn't experience any inconveniences.

It's okay...
I was hoping for more with this case. Incase makes a white version that smooth plastic, which is better than this because it doesn't get stuck in your pocket. When I bought this, I was hoping it would be that kind of plastic, but it's not. That's my first objection. My second objection is that the case didn't completely work well with my screen protector. It almost went on well if it wasn't for the bottom piece, which lifted my screen protector just a little, but just a little to annoy me. My third objection is with the lack of accessibility to the top and side buttons of my iPhone. This case makes it really difficult to click those buttons, which can be annoying. My last objection is in connecting audio cables, which is difficult with this case. Most audio cables won't fit, so might have to buy new cables that work with this case. If you don't have a problem getting around any of those objections, then you might like the case. I, however, am going to have to find something else, but it sucks that I'm out $35 because of it.

Good all over protection.
I wanted a case that gave all round protection but still gave good access to the charging point. This is due to the fact my in car Iphone jack is the old connection and with the lightning adaptor attached you need to have space in the case to allow the larger connection. The finish on the case is very nice, its only draw back i found is when the bottom part of the slide went on it put pressure on my screen protector and that bubbled in the corner.Overall pleased with this purchase.

Good quality but
Sliding section is sometimes inadvertently pulled of when phone is taken out of my jeans pocket but otherwise looks good and feels good quality.

Nice Simple Case
A very nice simple case for your iPhone. The one drawback is that the aux connection is very small. Because of the size of the case and the size of the aux slot 90 degree connections for earphones do not work. There are also many aux cables that I bought only to find out they did not fit with the case. I ended up using a drill to make the bigger and sometimes only using the top part of the case hoping if my phone dropped it would not be on the unprotected bottom.
