Well worth the purchase.
The screen I received has been great. It hooked up to my silver GameCube just fine. The screen on it looks great, and has never had a problem with color blead throughout the year after purchase. The volume can get pretty loud too. I've used this screen with a GameCube car power cable for multiple long road trips. I don't regret spending $50 for this in the slightest.

Works great, funky picture.
So it arrived early and it was new in box, I gotta say I definitely like it so far but the picture is definitely something you wish to be upgraded. However the picture despite being bad is also rather nostalgic to when I was but a mere child with the big square TVs with just as bad picture. Still enjoyable just don't play faster games with it or else you'll see after images and it'll distract you. But I'd definitely still get it, hell if someone made one with a better quality screen I'd buy that too.

This company is still in business?
Major problems with this product:1. It uses the analogue (composite) video input jack. I would expect a device of this nature to use the digital (component) digital jack to get a crystal-clear picture. I assumed the display was an LCD.2. My unit had 1 *bright white* constantly on pixel -- another sign of LCD "technology" today. Intec refused to exchange the product for another, claiming this "was the potential risk of using LCD products." Cute.3. Video quality. Have you ever seen Real media video? The video quality looks incredibly blotched. We're not talking about compression artifacts -- we're talking about BLOTCHY video, as in it looks like someone tossed up all over the display in a multitude of colours. NOTHING is consistant. The quality is incredibly saturated in some areas, and almost black-and-white in others.4. The back-lighting is HORRENDOUS. It comes from all four corners, so what you end up with is four corners that look white-grey, while the centre of the display is pitch black and unlit. Not to mention, the portions of the display which ARE lit are more or less "grey-black" versus true black. Another sign of cheap engineering.5. The audio is INCREDIBLY over-amplified. The volume knob, when turned all the way down, still induces audio. You adjust the knob maybe 1/8th a turn, and you now have BLARING audio at probably a good +35dB. Turn it more, and you double that. Then, for the rest of the knob's turns (about 2 of 3 FULL turns), you get no audio adjustment. What a completely useless potentiometre.6. To turn this unit **OFF**, you *push* the power button *IN*. This is quite possibly the most ingenious form of backwards engineering I've witnessed in the past 10 years. This has to be an obvious flaw with the product. If I could rate this unit NEGATIVE stars, I would. This product should be banned from distribution -- yes, it IS that bad. If this product was going for US$20.00, the cost would be justified. However, for something this expensive, the quality is outrageously horrid. Even children should consider NOT using this piece of junk -- it strains the eyes, and provides ZERO benefits. And if you play pixel-precise games like Ikaruga, look elsewhere. There's no way you're going to see any detail on this unit -- if you're even able to figure out how to turn it on without reading the manual. ;-)

Intec GC Monitor: Good portibility, average functionality
I have read reviewers comparing the Intec GC Monitor, raving of how much better it is than the Interact one. While I believe this is true claiming one product is better than the other, doesn't mean it's necessary a good product. Read into what I've just said and make sure you understand my point. Now onto technical aspects of review.I bought the 5.6" Intect GC Monitor about a month ago. Am I a happy customer? Not really. Note: I had to return the first unit to make sure that it wasn't a defect, but it turns out that's is just how the product is - at least for the two units I have touched. Here's a breakdown of the categories.Picture-Quality: AverageReasons: Picture is off-centered. Mine the viewable game playing screen is shifted all the way to the left side, and there's no way I can adjust it. I returned for another one and they are both the same. It would be nice if the viewing screen is centered but I can live with it off-centered. As for the picture quality itself, it's what one can expect from a small LCD display -... Control wheels for brightness and color are available as expected. Lastly, the unit I bought had advertised a 5.6" screen size but viewable is less.Sound-Quality: PoorReasons: Constant, annoying hissing noise in the background. There are two speakers and they do a decent job. A control wheel to turn them up quite loud, and it's a good thing to drown out the background hissing. Still, to me, there's just no excuse of having any other sounds other than the ones in the game.Portability: GoodReasons: Good portable gaming for long trip in car and stay at motel. Required only one connection for car DC adaptor, and another for AC outlet. Fitly and sturdily connected to Gamecube console. Small and light weight.Overall: AverageComments: ... In summary, if you are a desperate gamer or are shopping for one, think about other options. ... To me, packing a separate 15-25 lbs small size TV to a relative's home is worth the better gaming experience. ... But if you'd rather not deal with having a smaller TV and are serious only about GC gaming on the roads, than give the Intec GC monitor a try. ...

video games
This product allows my son to play the gamecube anywhere. He loves it because it doesn't confine him to a tv in a certain room and can bring it on vacation anywhere and with extra controllers up to four players can join him which is great for the whole family.
