It's opens.... which is 1 of very few positives.
The other being it does keep you dry.But the fabric is awful and easily damaged. The metal used is weak and really isn't strong enough for what it is. The handles small and it wobbles like it isn't properly connected. Feels like it'll snap in a breeze let alone strong winds.I should have spent more to get a better one but thought 'what a bargain'. Don't fall for it. May be a bargain but there's reasons to why it is and none are good.

I do not recommend getting one
Hands down the worst umbrella I have ever bought, the part that screws together has stripped and today was the first day of using it, It is not stable and very flimsy.

i wanted an umbrella that was strong and wouldnt break, this umberella is the complete opposite, i asked to return it and wanted a refund but they are resisting. id advise people not to buy this item.

Very flimsy, slight gust and it goes inside out.
Handle uncomfortable to hold, goes inside out at a breeze.
