Oh, yes this works to remove well water iron. I have a metal mesh filter, then two filters. I could still smell the iron in my RV water. I had an extra filter holder. Purchased this filter as the last filter before the water softener. After filling the empty RV tank, I went to wash my hands. WOW!! I immediately noticed no iron well water smell. The manufacturer recommends changing every 6-months. So glad I purchased two. I'm very excited that this works!!

Just installed it in whole house filter. Old filter was caked in orange sludge and hadn’t been changed in 4 months. It’ll be interesting to see how long this one lasts before needing changing. I have a clear filter housing so I can keep an eye on how dirty the filter is getting. But this house where it is installed isn’t a full time residence. So will it last “up to 6 months” as the advertisement boasts? We’ll see. Having said that I ordered a 2nd one so when the time comes I have a spare handy.

Purchased the Twin Big Blue system with this filter and Waterdrop's recommend GAC filter. Was running 32K Fine media softener (fleck). Hardness reading prior to softener, 21 with moderate high iron and manganese levels. Once installed, (you really need two people. Double unit isn't terribly heavy but for prolonged "steading" for levelness, it's a workout on the arms) It made a huge difference in my water purity. We were buying (3) 36 bottle cases of water a month. I figure the unit with these filters will be paid off in 10 months, A small price to pay when you consider the quality it produces. It's been almost 3 months in and I'm very pleased with the results. BTY the drop in pressure was minimal. (3-bedroom, two-bathroom house), Also, I concocted a "bracing" system for my install between the joists. Once these Big Blue (4-1/2" x 10") are filled with water, the bastards are pretty heavy so make damn sure they're hanging solid. Good luck!

The information regarding the filer stated that it would remove 99.3% of iron. My iron registered .323, not a high reading. The filter did not remove the dissolved iron and is only good for removing particles of undissolved iron (Ferric Iron). My white clothes were stained from the iron left in the water.

It has stopped the specks of debris that was coming through and moving into washer hose and bathtub. We had a sunset water system before. The cost of that was about 2,000 plus repairs.Anyhow this is way cheaper and you can see if it actually works. The only thing is we are getting mild iron come through. However this isnt made for iron. Our water system that we uninstalled did pull elements out like iron and such however, it began to need serviced.I think we will stay with these filters. The actual device we purchased came from lowes and it hooked up easily. If you buy the actual "brand that you are supposed too" not the comparable replacement they run up to 50 for one filter. You can also shop around on Amazon and find different prices. Check the price per filter and you will see the best deal.

just installed, we flushed all lines, tanks, etc, did not notice any difference in removing iron coloring in the water, water is the same before or after the filter. Very expensive for no change, not sure if i will be getting your brand for a replacement.
