Cast smooth, seems well made, looks great on a St Croix Bass X rod.

I spent some time looking for the right reel to replace an old one. I was looking at other more expensive reels, but I settled on this one because I read an article the Ardent family WAS still an AMERICAN MADE company. I guess they had to give in like the rest.I haven’t used it yet so I can’t comment on the performance. It’s a very sharp looking reel, feels solid, but my main purchasing point was I believed it was made in America. It’s NOT!!I received it today and I can’t decide if I want to keep it or send it back.

What can I say. The Ardent Bolt 3000 is a great spinning reel. I've paired it with a Berkley Lightning Rod Shock and spooled it with some Trilene XT 10# mono. What a great combination. I've been catching bass on this thing throwing everything from worms to creature baits. Haven't tried any small crank baits yet but so far I'm completely satisfied. This is by far the worst spinning reel in the 100 dollar range I have ever used, I have reels from Walmart that are better and half the price. bought this reel for a trout fishing trip in Maine never used it just got up here unpacked it and hit the river and the reel is crap it’s rough and it sticks can’t even reel half the time. I will never own or buy another ardent product they have lost a customer for life on this one

I was very skeptical buying this reel as I only heard of and used Ardent's reel care products and I had never heard anything about the reels. I am sooooo glad I stumbled upon this reel. First, it matched my custom rod so perfectly with color. Second, this thing is smooth as could be. Third, I can cast a 1/8th oz lure about 50 yards easy with the combo. I have mine (2000 size) lined with 6lb p-line flouroclear. The reel is very well balanced has plenty of power to pull any size fish in. I had a few friend try it and they went and bought one themselves. I will be adding more of these to my rods as the other reels break down.

Absolutely love this reel! The color of it is a little different than in the picture but I love it! Love that its light weight but still very durable! Recommend this reel to anyone! We will be getting another one for sure!

I was very disappointed, if I'm being completely honest here wich I need to be very honest and clear about this. The price point for what I got was not ok. first it is not smooth at all not one bit not the finger grip to the actual transmission (assuming bearings) for the price listed it should have been a lot better. I got it to replace a 30 dollar reel I have beat the crap out of for over ten years, its not that it broke it was just time, or so I thought. That said it is still 100 times smoother than the Ardent bolt that I received (the 1000 size) now I realize there are a lot of variables when it comes to the assembly of a reel of this nature, it's just the fact that my old very worn out reel is still preforming better than a new (honestly very good looking) higher end reel I just... I Don't know it just disappointed me is all I can really say. I have even had it apart and checked cleaned and repacked the bearings, the open faced ones anyway and oiled all the others (with good oil designed just for fishing reels) and I couldent work out why it's to rough still. Ig. I can flick the handle on my old reel and it just spins and spins. This ardent bolt flick it with generous force and catches something inside 3 or so times and comes to an abrupt stop I'm not sure I probably just got a bad one but again for being what it is I would think this would be checked before final assembly. One last mention is the box was nice not damaged but reel was a part in two peices just flopping around in the box and was a little dinged up no foam no papers just the reel and arm. Not that that would cause the roughness I have experienced within the reel just an observation. I had high hopes.

Being it is hard water time, haven't had a chance to use it. Spooled up and ready to go. I am hoping it works as good as it feels
