Good price for Canon product - but watch shipping charges!
Although lower cost substitute ink cartridges are sold all over the web, and on this site as well, the few bucks you might save aren't worth the all-too genuine risks of replacing with generic "no-name" ink tanks. I've heard (but wouldn't wish to try it, frankly) that generic inks fade faster when exposed to daylight, could clog the print-head spray nozzles, don't spread properly on top-quality paper, and simply can't compare with the uniquely formulated dyes that have been specially researched for your printer and its matching photo papers. The one exception might be if you use a black-ink-only inkjet [hard to imagine anyone could screw up black ink]. Even so, considering the low cost and remarkable longevity, I'd still stick with the Canon product, if only to match the other colors. I concur that printer manufacturers use that old hoary "razor trick" (give away the razor, profit on the blades), but with Canon's individual ink tanks -- where you replace only those tanks that run dry, you aren't out a lot. My Canon photo printer uses an array of six ink tank colors. Of these six tanks (all available on this site), 'photo cyan' and 'photo magenta' seem to be used up 2 to 3 times faster than 'black'. In other words, rather than replacing an entire set of six ink tanks, you can replace just those tanks that run empty the soonest -- thus not having to toss out a 3-ink tank [as used by HP] where 2 of the 3 remaining inks still are far from used up. Just a word of caution here - make certain that every cartridge you order from Amazon clearly states its eligibility for SuperSaver shipping. If you have to add shipping charges to this low-cost item, you could end up paying more than you would have at the local office supply store.

Excellent Product, Pricey But Worth It
This review is for Canon BCI-6 ink tanks. As I have found with all the Canon products I've owned, these are rather expensive, but are of excellent quality. Having owned other, less expensive, printer brands, and having been disappointed by them, I always opt for a Canon poduct if one is available in my price range. The ink, of course, is part of the bargain. I never refill and I never use non-Canon ink. While expensive, I feel the quality of the outcome is worth the price. I would, and do, recommend Canon to anyone considering a printer / copier purchase.

The Best Way to order the Best Cartridges for your Canon!
I tried to save money by ordering non Canon "equivalent" ink tanks. What a mistake. The printer never worked properly, even for just black text which printed with fuzzy edges on every character. The ink tanks also dried out much quicker than the Canon ink tanks bought with the printer. In fact, they only lasted a few months despite very little use, whereas the original ink tanks lasted well over a year.These genuine cartridges immediately restored print quality to where it was, but I discovered the non-Canon blue ink tank had clogged the print head, and I had to remove it to clean it manually (a very tricky operation that is not recommended by Canon). I will never buy non Canon ink tanks again.The pricing on amazon.com is excellent, and much better than elsewhere. The free standard shipping for ink tanks is very fast and does not require the $25 minimum purchase of normal free shipping (which is also slower anyway). I had my ink tanks in two days from the time of order.This is the ONLY way I will order Canon genuine ink tanks in the future (unless the pricing or shipping terms change) and I will NEVER use non Canon ink tanks again.

Works perfect at a great price
If any of you have ever had the depressing task of price comparing ink cartridges you know that they are ridiculously overpriced. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Amazon had the most reasonable price on the net. At the time I purchased this product it was right at $10 for the Cannon brand. I ended up buying 2 other cartridges which qualified me for free shipping so I think I did the best I could have without stealing.

I've never tried the cheaper imitations. I never will...
I've owned my Canon Inkjet printer for ten years now. I have never had a problem with it, at all. I have always purchased Original Canon Ink Tanks. It makes no sense to me to buy something that "might" work, for awhile. These ink tanks last a long time and very rarely dry up from lack of use. I have never been disappointed when printing pictures (unless it was mine or my camera's fault). Bright, clear color. Always.As my printer gets older, these tanks become harder to find. Luckily, Amazon always has them in stock. In that ten year time span, I've purchased all of my ink tanks from Amazon. Affordable and delivered free of charge right to my door.When I find a product that works so well for me, I have a tendency to stick with that product. This is one of those products.

Canon=5 stars, Amazon=1 star. Average=3 star
First of all, this is quality canon product. Cheaper than other printer manufacturers' oem ink cartridges and personally I love my Canon IP-6000D printer.But what's with Amazon charging nearly $8 to ship one ink cartridge and that's for standard shipping. That's not right. I don't need free shipping on everything but $3 is the most I should pay for shipping on an ink cartridge.

Keep it real, keep it Canon!
Thank God that I haven't had problems with my Canon i9900 yet because for the past year, on and off, I've been buying the cheaper alternative Canon ink brands that say they're compatible. After reading many reviews and finding consistencies in the problems that occur with these inks, I'll never go back to trying to save money for sake of. You're not getting a good deal, you're ruining your printer. Take care of your Canon printer so use Canon inks for Canon printers, not cheap knockoffs that claim you're saving money in the short term. Long term care outweighs saving a few bucks here and there twice over.
