I have used these extensively to polish rock slices from very crudely cut to quite a high polish. Best results when the surface being worked is wet. Understandably the coarse 50 grit has taken the most use but aside from being rather dirty now it is still performing as if it was fresh out of the packet and the fibre backing for the hook and eye attachment is showing no sign of wear. The only very minor drawback is that by the time I get down to the 3000 grit the hard plastic of the polishing surface leaves smear marks. Those can however be buffed away with a foam pad car buffing set and a smear of toothpaste.

I use these to tidy up cut edges on porcelain slabs after cutting and they work great you can contour and smooth out any edge a must have for landscapers and kitchen fitters

If you want a glass fisinish of course you need the final rare earth powder stage.

Great product. Worked a treat in a cordless drill.One thing to consider - these pads are small. Really small. Think it’s prime for edging, corners, trim and joints. Some of the reviews appear to be from people trying to polish worktops and floors - get something bigger.

The discs seem robust. Whether the coarseness of the discs is true to their description is unclear as they all look identical apart from the colour coded backing pad. The issue I had was using on travertine to remove etching stain. After researching for hours on YouTube the correct procedure (as with many products on Amazon there are no instructions), I finished up with the etching removed but the travertine were left with a dull finish which was impossible to buff out. Even finishing off with the 3000 grade disc then using lambs wool buffer it was impossible to get a shine. I wouldn’t say my bathroom tiles are ruined but it certainty isn’t the result I was hoping for.

Get through the tile but not neatly initially. Does not grip position very well at the start
