Used as back up for LP.
Okay. Not as complete or easy to use as the Lonely Planet guide. Would not buy again.

DK format is to provide detailed info about "every city". Harder to get an overview for trip planning. I found more helpful info online (free!) and ended up NOT taking this book to NZ with me

DK books rock!
I love the DK line of your guides. They give a great overview of the location you might be interested in learning about. I find the information accurate and timely as well as written well.

Beautiful photography and detailed information
As with the guide to Austailia...wonderful for trip planning or studying up in preparation for a tour. The downside is isTsa weight...it's really too heavy to carry with me on a trip.

wonderful illustrations and compelling text
A welcome new edition to the previous DK guide. 'Lonely Planet' was the only guide I could find available in NZ up until January this year. However, the DK 'eyewitness' series are in a different league: wonderful illustrations and compelling text. A great addition to the collection.
