KEENMen's Targhee 3 Oxford Hiking Shoe

Very comfortable and fit

I am very pleased with these walking shoes from Keen which I am using for doing lots of dog walking, but also as a general shoe for going about in. In fact it was a spur of the moment purchase, but I am very pleased with the build quality and the comfort. I have quite wide shoes and always find Keen shoes the best.

I will update this review over the weeks and months as they wear in. But putting them on new out of the box is a very nice and very comfortable experience.However, as an experienced Keen user over the years of various boots and sandals where you are recommended to go for a half-size larger than other shoe makes, with the Targhee III Oxford this is not the case! I'm usually a UK size 10, and I originally ordered a 10.5 - but they were too wide and quite a bit too long. Just received a replacement size 10 and they fit perfectly!

I have a large wide foot. These shoes are perfect for me. They are sturdy, comfortable (have slight in step) and great grip. These are my second pair of Keens, my first were explore wp which I dreaded wearing out but shouldn't have worried as these are just as good if not better.

Nice comfortable and wide fit. Bought these as work shoes at a desk job. Im a bit dubious about hiking in them. The ankle collar(?) felt uncomfortable at first but seems to have broken in. I like Keen for the wide fit but it would be nice if the soles were firmer, like a vibram sole. Used them briefly in the rain and are not waterproof.

I loved these keen Oxford shoes when I purchased them. Very wide toe and great for my foot arthritis. However after just two months the stitching started to break and the sole of the shoes started letting in water. I've only worn these to work and only in light rain. I've not hiked in them or even worn them on wet grass. These shoes are not fit for purpose. I am so disappointed that I spent so much money expecting a quality shoe and ended up with something that is only fit for the bin.

Excellent Walking Shoes, these are the 3rd pair I've brought over the past few years.

My search for some hiking shoes let me to try these KEEN hikers after not getting a good fit with another higher end hiking shoe. I wore these around the house for several days before taking them out on the street, just to be sure they were going to fit well, and the heel in the arch area.As advertised, there’s plenty of room in the toebox, but there’s a great fit for the arch and heel area, so the shoe feels great! I normally wear a size 11 in crosstrainers, and an 11 in this KEEN shoe worked perfectly.These make great looking casual everyday shoes. I love the leather, the shoes are easy to lace up to tighten them just right on my feet, and the tread has great grip.If anything changes after I actually go out on a hiking trail, I will add to this review. However, from what I’ve experienced so far, I believe they’re going to be comfortable and hopefully durable hiking shoes. I am pleased!UPDATE:I haven’t made it to the trail yet, but I teach school and have worn these to school several days… Today I realized they are more comfortable than the cross trainer sneakers that I usually wear. Very comfortable as I’m on my feet all day!
