Using these to vent my pool heating system and they are doing a great job so far. Been in for a month and are working, system is fairly low pressure and these remove the trapped air well. They do allow the air back in when the pump is off as they don’t have check valve feature. I didn’t add a check here as I was afraid it would hurt the air removal with my low system static pressure (<10 PSI) when the pump is running. Being an open system the air accumulation is constant issue and my original design of manual valves didn’t work well. These allow the system vent and prevent air lock on startup…. My pool is 85 in May (helps a little that I’m in Phoenix)

We bought a house with a hot-water circulating pump in a high loop with no way to purge. It air locked and began to cavitate. I added a tee above it with a ball valve and topped it off with this float valve. The float valve works fine and doesn't spit water when the air is gone like many I've seen in the past. My only problem is with the male threaded portion which is either too short or not quite tapered enough. It leaks a tiny bit at the thread and may stop at some point, but I just keep the ball valve which I installed below it in the closed position for the most part and only open it to purge every few weeks. It's doing the job and for a reasonable price.

The price was great and they did just what I needed. Once your application is up to pressure though the air may not be released since I think the back pressure keeps the float valve closed. For this reason I slowly added pressure to allow the air time to release.

Description is misleading. Ordered the 1/8" and 3/4" vents but these require the use of adapters (included) using either o-ring or flat washer. Threads on the actual vents appear to be IPS, not NPT. And the vent caps are not captive, screw off easily. May function OK but use of more adapters is just another leak/failure point.
