So pretty and everyone loves them!
I've never owned Corelle before because it was just not my style. The simple designs I had seen in Corelle previously just didn't appeal to this color obsessed woman! I saw these and they matched my new dining room curtains so I figured I'd give it a shot. I bought service for four first to make sure I liked them. I had previously been using reusable plastic plates because I have three children and my other dishes flat out scared me. Two days after they arrived, I tossed those old plates in the recycling bin. These are fantastic!! Very lightweight, and I love that they're so thin that they take up very little of my valuable cabinet space. I ordered a second set as well and my kids, who normally couldn't care less about these things, have actually told me they love the dishes. They wash up great, are very kid friendly, have beautiful colors in them, and take up little space. Best part is that the smaller plates are big enough to be used as dinner plates. In fact, that's all I use for my 6,8 and 11 year old children. I could easily use them for my husband and myself as well! I use the mugs every morning for coffee, and they're very sturdy and a nice size. The only thing I would change if given a chance is I'd add some more detail to the bowls. Even just a single daisy at the bottom of the bowl would be cute. While I think the bowls look great as is, I bought the set because I love color, and I feel as though the bowls could benefit from more of that! However, in general, I'm VERY happy with this purchase!

Nicest of the Corelle Patterns, If You Want A Pop of Color
i had a set of Corelle about 30 years ago and loved them, but my husband hated them, so after months of his whining😢, I gave in and we bought stoneware. My husband passed away a year and a half ago and I moved last summer. I bought new things for the new kitchen including the orange Rachael Ray cookware. I did bring the multi colored stoneware and bought the Fiesta silverware. I have RA, and the stoneware had become just too heavy, especially since for the first time in forty years I don't have a dishwasher🙀. I was looking at the Corelle dish sets and came upon the "Happy Days" pattern and loved it. It came in the Amazon Prime two days and I was impressed with the way it was packed. It was in an Amazon shipping box with air pillows and the box with the dishes was well wrapped in bubble wrap taped securely so it stayed on. It took me quite a while to get the inner box open, but it was great because the set arrived perfectly with no chips, cracks or breaks. The pattern has the pop of color that the other Correlle patterns seem to lack. The dinner dishes are huge. The salad/dessert plates are more the size of my stoneware dinner plates, but they are all lightweight and easy to handle. As many other reviewers have stated, the dishes are all made from the well known Corelle materials, BUT the mugs are stoneware. I really don't know why, because the set we had all those years ago were made from the same material as the dishes. The mugs are a bit larger than my old stoneware mugs. I have an original one single serve Keurig Coffee Maker and the mug just fits. The dishes even match my kitchen curtains and accent walls. The only thing that is a bit strange, but I noticed seems to be the same with all patterns, is that the bowl is all white with a rim that matches the rust colored flower on the dishes. Even a flower at the bottom of the bowl would tie the bowl more in with the dishes. I don't find it a huge problem just an observation. Finally, I STRONGLY suggest you read the use and care instructions included with the dishes. There are some guidelines that you might not think about. The one that stuck out to me was not to use the dish in the microwave with food that includes a crisping sheath like Hot Pockets. Again, not a huge problem, but good to be aware of. Otherwise I recommend the Corelle dishes and especially the Happy Days pattern!

Exactly what we were looking for
My #1 requirement when buying these dishes was that I was so tired of heating food up in the microwave, only to have my old plates get hotter than the food I was heating! I had to wear oven mits sometimes to take the plates out of the microwave, and in some cases change plates once my food was heated due to the plate in the microwave being so hot i couldn't even touch it.Enter these Corelle dishes... I primarily bought these because review after review stated that you could microwave with them and have the plate itself not get hot, except where the food was placed. That is EXACTLY what we got and I couldn't be more satisfied. I have put these into the microwave numerous times now, sometimes for minutes at a time, and when I pull them out, I can do so with my BARE HANDS. The entire plate is cool, and only gets hot directly under the food. I feel like a kid in a candy store and keep giggling about it to my wife every time I use them. The pattern is great, too. I was a little worried about how it would look in person, but it's very high quality and elegant looking, which is a huge step forward in the corelle plates I remember my mom having back in the 80's (you know the ones - with the little flower designs around the edge of the round plates).I should also comment that while although these plates are extremely thin, they don't feel cheap. And it is nice that I can now stack 16 of these plates in one cupboard together and they fit without a problem (we bought 4 sets of these dishes to have extra for company, etc).So if you're looking for plates that are resilient and strong, and don't heat up in microwaves, and like red and dark grey designs, grab these bad boys and enjoy. And for the one-time only amazing low price of whatever it is they're currently marked as on Amazon, these plates can be yours! So don't hesitate! Pick up the phone and call! (This offer valid as long as Amazon continues to sell the plates. The reviewer is not an authorized dealer for Amazon or Corelle, so all his opinions should be taken with a grain of salt - preferably with some nice microwave re-heated chicken or broccoli on your new set of Corelle plateware.)
