Guidecraft Jr. Roll-Top Study Desk and Chair Set Espresso - Dark Cherry Storage Shelf, Kids Furniture

Not all parts were there this is the second time we ordered one as the first one we couldn't fix. This one we were able to glue what was missing. The desk and wood is great and the kids love it. Not a lot of room but for whatever reason the kids love how the top rolled and they felt grown up so I guess it served its purpose

Its the best, fits our needs perfectly. We get a lot of use out of it. The wood is easy to clean and nice to look at. Very easy to assemble and perfect size for us. Suits our needs, a great buy.

Product made of soft wood, but looks nice put together. Ok for a child's use. Took several tries to order as part (hardware) was missing from the package.

I'll never buy another Guidecraft product unless I want to spend over $200 on kindling. 1) the slightest bump removes paint exposing unattractive wood; it appears no primer was used. 2) the intentionally exposed fasteners/screws look very cheesy. 3) the roll top is just half-rounds (not fitted or grooved) glued to cheap cloth which you can see between each of the half-rounds. Looks and is cheap. 4) it's all cheap wood. 5) cheap fasteners that break when tightened. 6) glue-peg holes are not snug on pegs. 7) overall appearance is not as nice as photo. Well, you get the idea; I think it's junk. This is the kind of stuff, that after a couple years, you'll find for 20 bucks at the thrift shop. Oh, and yes, 8) the interior pieces - the storage compartments - are glued together and two of the joints have already separated and need to be re-glued. 9) the storage compartment did not fit into the back of the unit without some trimming to allow it to move into place. 10) The stain is sprayed on and about half of the roll top rounds did not get completely painted. I mean there is bare wood on the half rounds that stand out like a Jackson Pollock nightmare. 11) Other paint issues include paint "shadow" on the inside compartments (that is there is over-spray and under-spray depending on the way the paint gun was being held. The same is true of chair legs, chair back, chair back supports drawers, etc. 12) Do not depend on the guide holes when you screw on the back plates; they do not match the legs or sides. You need to line up the back and make your own holes. My experience is that Guidecraft is neither a good guide nor a craft. Did I mention that I think it's junky?

6 year old son L-O-V-E-S this desk! He says it's the best looking piece of furniture in the house! (hmph!)

daughter is getting usedto, but now she nknows this is the place for homework and coloring time. no more walls or floor.!

The desk is great but I would never order again because it was so difficult to assemble. There should be a special category for grandparents so we can purchase already assembled products.

This item is very small, intended for a young child. Read the measurements carefully because their return policy and customer service is awful.
