Beautiful!
You have to use backflow incense with this burner. Backflow cones have a hole frilled in the bottom, so the smoke flows down. It really looks nice when it is burning. I ordered this for my granddaughter and she loves it. Shipped fast and was packaged well.

Just as described
Bigger than anticipated. Well made and looks like a piece of table art when not in use.Very Zen and fascinating to watch the milky smoke cascade gracefully from top to bottom. After first time using, the oily residue remains, but that is part of burning incense. It seemed like the incense cone burned faster in my opinion.I have been burning incense since the 70's, and never had one of these back burning incense stands before. Happy with purchase. Wish it came with cleaning advice. I will research that.

Beautiful and serene gift for my friend
One of my friends collects tea pots from around the world (she has a room dedicated to them, mostly all mounted on small shelves on the walls) and she likes to burn incense so this was the perfect gift. She had never seen back flow incense before -- when I demonstrated the unique downward-flowing smoke, she was captivated and enthralled. This design is very pleasing, the craftsmanship is superb, and the dark subdued color perfectly sets off the white flowing smoke. The incense that came with this set smells nice, even though it's not super high quality it is good enough to get started with. I only wish I enjoyed the incense experience more, myself, to make it worthwhile getting a back flow incense burner for myself as well.

Beautiful Sculpture, But...
This burner looks nice in any room, but I've found it rarely diverts the smoke as perfectly as shown. Even in a room with completely still air, the smoke rarely makes it to bowl, let alone the lowest level. It's fun to watch when it does work and makes for a nice little accent piece, so I'm not returning it. As with all backflow burners, make sure you place it on a mat of some sort - I use a tile square - because the resin residue will permanently damage wood and other surfaces.

Gorgeous sensory/mediation support
Glow: Very happy with this. It worked with the cones I already had and came with decent scents and a set of tweezers, as well as a nice little medallion to let it sit on. It's a lovely ornament to have on the shelf even when not burning. It's a fantastic way to focus while meditating or just to enjoy. Cones last about 20 minutes which is great for a meditation session.Drawbacks: Very minor complaints. The cones provided don't have any scent indicators (they're just in a bag with different random cones) so having to do trial and error to find what each scent was. The initial burn doesn't work as it does in the videos, but after you've burned a couple of cones it will leave a thin oil layer that helps the flow and it works exactly as described.

Cool
First of all, you will need special cones for this to work. You can't use regular incense cones, they have to be special downdraft cones. Having said that, there are plenty of options, scents, and sizes out there. They are slightly pricier than the regular, but this is cool. I like the way the smoke drifts. It is a nice conversation piece, and you can purchase longer lasting cones. Overall, decent buy.
