Our canisters are for BR40 not BR30 bulbs, so it took a while to find BR40 bulbs that weren't 5000K task lighting-oriented. These were prefect. 65W equivalent, soft lighting, and EXACTLY the same quality of lighting as my old incandescent bulbs. Instant-on, no flicker, and now occupy my 9-light kitchen. Sad to see Amazon discontinuing this product. I will buy these elsewhere - they're worth it.

This is the new model for the older style of the Philips soft white flood light bulb. It is a soft white but brighter than the old model and has the dimming capacity for the dimmer light switches. The packaging was superb. You can trust this company to pack the bulbs safely.

Perfect color temperature. I tried to buy in local hardware stores. The available bulbs in stores are too bright for indoor living areas

Slightly brighter than the 65W incandescents these replaced (which made them more like the 75W bulbs I used to use back in the good old days when you could get 75W bulbs), but the color is indistinguishable. These have that same warm incandescent glow, use a fraction of the electricity, generate less heat and cost about the same as the incandescents they replaced. It doesn't get better than that! One thing to note, they are listed here as 9W, but the box they came in said 10W.

I couldn't tell from the description what the size was and when it arrived, it was too big. Back it goes this weekend.

I replaced eight 100-watt standard incandescent canned lights about three weeks ago with these 9-watt Philips BR40 model 457010 LEDs. Compared to the incandescents, these LEDs have the exact same warmth (color), appearance, size, and shape, but reduce power consumption more than 90%. They also are much cooler, especially nice in the summertime. They don't dim quite as much, but that's a non-issue since we really don't use that feature. Another plus is that they light instantly after flipping the switch. I got all eight for roughly $95.00 ... tax and shipping included.

Bulb itself is 5 stars, but I knocked one off because of Amazon's limiting purchase to 3 bulbs (so no free next day shipping). To add insult to injury, the 3 bulbs arrived in a box that could easily have held 6 of these.

Bright clean lights. My bathroom is now so well light that I can see how poorly I have been cleaning it.My only gripe is that they are slightly longer than the BR40 sockets I have in my Kitchen.
