While I can't believe it, it was plug and play with Ubuntu 22.04. Shows up as usblp0. Used CUPS via localhost:631 to add the printer. Lsusb identifies as ch340s chipset.

I was pleasantly surprised hooking this cable up to an old dot matrix printer on a Windows 10 - 32 bit Virtual Machine. After loading the printer driver and then assigning the USB virtual port as discussed in one of the other reviews, the printer worked like a charm!For anyone who has any problems, there is a card in the package with their website and support number that is available. I didn't notice this until recycling the packaging.

Bought this as a last attempt at getting an old Datamax printer working for a work project.... we had an old printer that was parallel port only which then worked its way to a serial port, then converted into ethernet which then terminated into a local machine (Not even networked).... thought it would be a case of reinstall drivers and getting the printer working... how wrong was I... hours wasted.I nearly scrapped the lot and was looking at a replacement printer. but as a final attempt I saw this and thought i would give it a go. Arrived promptly (thank you Amazon deliver peeps) and was packaged beautifully (opening the box is 80% of the fun). All I can say is that within minutes I had the printer working from my Windows 11 machine (only 6 months old) running the Datamax which is what I think printed the boarding passes for the Titanic. Over the moon and saved me hundreds of pounds
