This is a great product! It contains only 100 mcg K2 (Menaquinone-7 [MK-7]), 2 mg Vitamin C, rice flour, the cellulose (capsule), Ascorbyl Palminate and Silica. In other words, nothing bad for you and 100 capsules of MK-7; which is what we bought it for. The MK-7 is taken from Natto (fermented soy), the best natural source for MK-7; and, MK-7 is the most beneficial/best form of K2. It's about time that the nutritional supplement industry and more medical doctors got on board with understanding basic nutrition. Scientific studies (that is, studies using proper scientific method) already show the natural effects of Vitamin K-2 as a key to metabolizing Vitamin D3 (which we normally get from the sun), Calcium, Magnesium, etc. Also, given that with only ten minutes of exposure to the sun, twice a day (about 10AM and 3PM, when the sun is high in the sky and full), the body will use the cholesterol in your body to produce 40,000- D3 a day; however, more sun exposure than that will not produce much more D3. After that first few minutes of exposure, the skin goes into protection mode (which results in tanning) and shortly after that the skin can start to suffer damage. Doctors that are studying these facts say that with 40,000 IU of D3 a day you will never get any form of cancer; they also prescribe 50,000 IU (or more) of D3 a day as a principle treatment for many kinds of cancer; which was my case. I was diagnosed with a melanoma on my ear lobe and was prescribed 50,000 IU D3 a day. Further study indicated that though the optimal level of K2 is about 100 mcg to 1,000 IU D3, if the form of K2 is MK-7 we can reduce our K2 from 5g to 700 mg MK-7. That means I need to take 1 capsule from Bio-Tech D3-50 50,000 Iu with seven capsules of NOW Foods Vitamin K-2 MK-7, 100mcg per day. However, this product is the best we have found and we have not been able to find MK-7 in any greater quantities per capsule for any reasonable price. Given that D3 is the heavy lifter (necessary) that is not only necessary to properly processes Calcium and Magnesium and L-Arginine (the primary source for NO in the body) it seems like the manufacturers and doctors should get up to speed and produce a product with a higher concentration of K2 (MK-7) per capsule. Again, the best thing about this product is it has the K2 (MK-7) without any oil or additives that are not good for the body--we just wish they would put more K2 in each capsule. (By the way, because we commented of the D3 in this response, we should also warn that no one should ever take Calcium as a supplement. Calcium is plentifully available in almost everything you eat. Respectively, a Calcium deficiency is almost never a deficiency in a dietary intake of Calcium; rather, it most often indicates a serious D3 and/or K2 deficiency. Thus, if you increase your D3 and K2 intake but not Calcium or Magnesium, Calcium and Magnesium will naturally increase in your system because your body will have the nutrition necessary for metabolizing the Calcium and Magnesium you already get from your normal diet. Also, be aware that using the levels of K2 noted above will cause the body to use more Vitamin A. Thus, to get a reasonable balance of these three Vitamins we use the following every day: 1 capsule of Bio-Tech D3-50 50,000 Iu ; 7 capsules of NOW Foods Vitamin K-2 MK-7, 100mcg and 2 softgels of Solgar Vitamin A 10,000 IU

I have had high cholesterol for a number of years. My weight and BMI is normal, I eat clean and in moderation. I do not drink or smoke, Nothing I did in terms of diet and exercise shifted the dial. Eventually, other health problems started to follow - muscle pain, hypothyroid, high BP, ocular changes, pre-diabetes and high BP. I was told that I was just getting older. Finally, my PCP put me on statin that made things worse. My muscle pain, cramps, chest pains increased. I started having GI issues, my A1C number jumped from 6.8 to 7.5 within a few weeks of starting statins. When I saw my sibling get a heart attack due to clogged arteries as well as hardening of arteries due to calcification I knew I was next. I started to research how one can reverse hardening of arteries and the one thing that was recommended was K-2. I ordered one bottle and started taking K-2 once a day along with Guggul (twice a day) while I continued the statin. Within 4 months, my cholesterol is absolutely normal - my bad cholesterol is low, my good cholesterol is high, my total cholesterol is in normal range. I have stopped taking statin and continuing the K-2 and Guggul. My aim is to maintain my low cholesterol but also fix my A1C. Along with K-2, I am now taking the following - Guggul, ReMag, Probiotics, Ashwagandha, Triphala, Garlic. Ginger. Turmeric, Karela and Inulin. I believe that every thing is connected in our bodies. We need to fix our gut, detox our liver, maintain blood sugar and take care of all inflammation in our body. I am also drinking moringa tea now. Hopefully, in coming months I can write that my A1C has become normal and get off of Metformin as well. Updated on 8/27/2020 I became a bit lax about my health in 2019. When your numbers and health becomes good you ignore the fact that you got there due to lifestyle changes and that these changes need to be adhered to for life. My recent cholesterol numbers (without statins or K2) was 166. Not so terrible, eh? But without K2, my HDL dropped to 39 and LDL went up high. And this is the interesting thing I have seen - without K2, I cannot move my HDL up and lower my LDL - even though total cholesterol is not high. Even statins only help to lower overall cholesterol for me but not improve HDL/LDL ratio. This may be purely genetic because coronary artery disease runs in my family on both sides. I will not make the mistake of stopping K2 again. K2 keeps me healthy but without it I revert back to high HDL in less than a year. I have increased my K2 intake to 1 tablet twice a day for the next few months. In the morning I am having it with Guggul(Himalaya brand). At night I am also adding Zinc, D3 and Magnesium(ReMag). This particular combo has shown marked improvement to energy levels, sleep, aches/pains and inflammation fairly quickly, even during my recent COVID bout in March. In about 4-5 months I will drop the morning dose.

Depending on the pricing (about $10/free s/h) at the time of my purchase here at Amazon, I either use this brand (NOW), Jarrow, or on occasion Doctor's Best. All three of those brands seem to work equally well although I prefer Jarrow and NOW. I will caution that the sublingual version of the K2 MK7 from Source Naturals, while otherwise a great product, was impractical due to the pills chipping and turning to powder effecting dosage and leaving one with a pile of the product at the end of the bottle - and this was on a bottle purchased locally, I can only imagine what shipping would do. I do like the NOW version of KS MK7 for the fact that it's not derived from soy although the trade off may be that it's produced by gmo (bacterial) means as is often the case with the newer generation 'pure' supplements. I also wonder if the veggie caps are the SLS free variety(?). As for the supplement itself (K2 MK7), it is absolutely essential for heart health. Put simply, it not only serves the normal vitamin K function within your body but it also has dramatically improved absorption, helps significantly in bone health and most importantly (to me at least) K2 MK7 removes arterial calcification. In plain English: it has been proven to remove calcium plaque deposits from your arteries and veins in numerous clinical studies. But since it can't be patented and marketed for hundreds of millions, or more like billions of dollars, there is little interest in promoting this fact and intense pressure to deny it's a fact at all. Disclaimer: So the FDA doesn't come after me and ruin my life and career I have to point out that: All of the above is just my opinion, I am not giving medical advice, I am not a medical professional, don't believe me, I could be wrong. Look into things for yourself. Hope this review helps.

This was my 3rd bottle, however I traced a new heart related symptom back to January '16, when I began taking both MK-7 and MK-4. After hearing other people in a large health forum mentioning similar problems with MK-7 I discontinued it for a week. Things settled down gradually but abruptly began again the first night after reintroducing MK-7 in the morning. Several others in the group take MK-4 alone with good results & no side effects after discontinuing MK-7. It's important to mention that I was taking one NOW capsule, plus 1 from Innovix Labs which combined 500 mcgs MK-4 with 100 mcgs MK-7 for a total of 200 mcgs MK-7. I stopped both capsules for a week then began again with only the NOW MK-7. I'm not saying it's the NOW brand, but for me, MK-7 causes my heart to feel like it's fluttering and knotting up in my chest when I'm going to sleep, and it also woke me up during the night. I would have to disagree with certain reviewers here that make such firm statements that MK-7 is totally safe and that everyone should throw out the MK-4 and only give MK-7 to infants, toddlers, children, etc. I have read recommendations to only take the 55 mcg. supplements instead of the larger doses because it stays in the body for up to 3 full days. Next I will try MK-4 alone. Here is an NIH bulletin published for professionals to utilize in their practices re "Vit K2 for Health Professionals": [...]
