Here's my review of the Kaito KA700 Radio. Kaito's other models are junk I tried a few and didn't like them.Kaito KA700 Radio.It works far better than expected for a small transistor radio.It sounds good on all applications.AM, FM radio is excellent, picks up well even with the antenna all the way down.It quite literally does practically anything you want to do.The battery 2000 mAh lasts practically forever. But it does take 8 hours to charge on USB or 6 volt adapterMy radio must have had an upgrade because they've included a 6-volt socket.The graphic equalizer, works only under SD card, playing MP3, WMA or WAV.The graphic equalizer is excellent.Read the reviews if you need proof.If you want something that will keep you occupied for the rest of your life. Buy it.Navigating the menus does take some skill, but once you get the hang of it, it's a lot of fun.Special note, don't rush the commands. The machine is slow, and can execute the wrong command, if you hit the keys too fast. Other than that, basically it's worth it, but at $80.00 it's HIGHWAY ROBBERY. But I don't know where you would get a better deal.The battery that the radio comes with is very high quality. If you want the HIGHEST QUALITY backup especially these BATTERIES below and the charger below is pretty good because you can slow charge or fast charge. The radio has an impressive build quality. The options on this radio are deep. I enjoy the MP3 playback. The recording function is great! You can record the FM band in stereo! There is a scheduled record function that will wake the radio up and start recording the last station you had set. This can be set to do it every day, though I could not find a duration setting...so just have a nice capacity SD card. Can set up Scheduled recording.* Text Reader...yes, this function can be invaluable in an emergency. Contacts, Lists, ect. I like the idea of short stories to read to children.* Tuning is easy, you can tune with the knob, seek with the buttons, direct entry the station, and navigate presets with the M- and M+ Keys.Features I wish it had or could be improved on:* Ability to record the Line-In jack.* The AM band is ok, but many of the stations exhibit a high pitched tone. Especially distant stations at night.* A longer FM antenna, to improve the reception even more!* A different display, maybe an LCD display that can be read easily when the light is not active.* An active clock when the power is off on the radio.* Dedicated Sleep, Snooze and Alarm set keys.* Alert mode is to restrictive. The 600L does this right, by allowing it to stay active while still being able to use the radio and all its functions.This radio is for those who want an entertainment device and recorder. Makes a great emergency radio when your stuck having to evacuate to a shelter or different location. You can load up your SD card with tons of podcasts, music and old time radio shows(like I do). I'm really happy with this radio overall. A worthy upgrade from the basic emergency radios out there.

A little difficult to operate. Same buttons for different functions via color coded names. Eq works only on music mode. No tone controlOn the other hand, good radio reception, micro sd card works fine, many ways to charge battery, including solar panel, charges a mobile phone very well. Nice led Reading light. Torch light. Sturdy, light case, bluetooth works very well.

Finally I fount this KA700. I searched for quite long time for recording FM features in Bestbuy fries and Amazon store.KA700 is one of the best radio I have ever owned! The radio has all features that I really need and all the features are working great in all details. Let me share some that impress me much . Favorite : 1/ Sound quality is great that plays back music as it can be . 2/ the recorder is super, I bought it for purpose to record my favorite AM station, it can be set to recorder on Radio or outside voice. Plus it can be set to record at a certain time which was preset. 3/ the NOAA weather band has high sensitivity and receives well in my area . 4/ the radio charges my cellphone with no problem , 5/ the reading lamp and flash light is the best useful feature for me. 6/ the sound effects on the MP3 player is great. 7/ the Bluetooth gives a bonus for me to play my music from my iphone and hear it from the quality speaker.8/ the power source that is designed for emergency is perfect.The battery is rechargeable and last very long time.Con: there is no power adapter with it, I have to use iphone adapter to charge it .I highly recommend it to my friends and family, it is a great radio !
