Gtech Power Floor K9 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

I don’t normally write reviews but was so dissatisfied with this vacuum & didn’t want anyone else to waste money on it.The suction power is about the same as my daughters toy Henry vac.The only thing it ever picked up was mine and my daughters long hair which wrapped around the brush head. We have sofa cushions stuffed with feathers and it wouldn’t even suck up the ones that had escaped and landed on the carpet.Instead of suction it just churns things up and spits it straight back out again once it’s been broken into more pieces. It may very well be good with pet hair but you will need another vac to clean up everything else.

Flexibilty and light weight are it’s two best features and there are some clever design touches.Disappointing that It is not as powerful as expected.It can’t be rellied on for deep cleaning so we still use our heavier swivel VAX for that.On the plus side it’s very handy for a quick tidy.You must make sure that you keep the filter clean or the suction will drop dramaticallyYou gat a spare filter with the machine and they can be washed under a tap for re use.(see video on You Tube)You will also find that removing the rotating brush head will greatly improve the collecting of things like crumbs and budgie seedThough the rechargeable hand unit can be detached and stored on a flat surface without a problem next to a convenient plug it really needs a wall attachment bracket to allow you to store and charge the cleaner in an upright position.The small brush end provided for use with the hand held unit is virtually useless due to the material used.We would have liked the car cleaning kit but in view of the the price of this cleaner we thought it was bit of a liberty to charge an extra £50 for three simple plastic attachments in an a bag.Having used it for about a year now we have had a couple of small faults with the main rotating brush head.There are two small stick on red tabs on the bottom of the brush head and one of them went missing from ours. You can’t buy new tabsKeep an eye on them and you see them starting to peel off peel them away completely and super glue them back on before they fall off and get lost forever.We lost our red tabs we contacted G tech customer service who were very good and actually replaced the entire rotating brush head with no quibble or charge.A further fault developed when a a rubber protector strip on front bottom of the brush split.Fortunately I was able to fix this by pinching the same part from the old brush head which I had kept.We think the may have been caused by moving rom room to room and across the door the floor strips with the machine running.If you are going to buy one you need to shop around as Gtech have an array of offers and promotions that can be very confusing.Filters are also easy to buy on line but again shop around for the best deal.We've given it four stars after giving it only three in our last review.After discovering how important changing the filter was and how easy it is to clean we felt it only fare to upgrade our rating.Though the full price is still a bugbear especially the charge for car cleaning tools.It’s main use is as a quick clean up tool.

I can definitely recommend, cleaning people's houses I get to use a variety of stick cleaners and this one is better than Dyson in my experience .

OK for look, being lightweight and ease of use. However, cheap plastic components that look as if they wont last (long or otherwise) and my main gripe is this is poor suction. You have to run the hoover over and over and over.I do enough exercise housework wise without any added further use of this cleaner. I'd like to meet the G Tech Designer and Maker and ask if he ever thought about making a more powerful suctioned hoover. This is useless on my carpeting and just about okay on my solid wood floors.The top reviews give encouragement to purchase but having had powerful vacuum cleaners for years, this is a 2* product. 1* for lightweightness (as this is a must for me) and the other is ease of use.I'd like the designer and maker to come round to my house and home and have him work alongside me with my present (and taken out of its early retirement - Henry Hoover). For goodness sake...make your G Tech corded. And before any reviewers jump on my feedback back so to speak....a corded cleaner to enable power, suction and the cord to be lengthy and retractable. So though the point is buying a non corded cleaner - what is the point when its so poor in power and suction.

I always have problems with vacuums not delivering what they promise. It's fair to say if a vacuum lasts me a couple of months, it's done well.This one actually feels like it's going to be a keeper. Its easy to just grab and go. Its easy to empty and so far I have no issues with suction or charging.This is my first ever cordless vacuum and so far I'm impressed.
