How many shaves per blade?

Depending on how often you shave can be as many as 10 shaves to even more. I bought 100 and for the price I use 1 new blade per shave. Reasonably priced @ approx .25 cents a blade makes it easy to use once and throw away.

Are these better than merkur blades?

Yes, they are. Merkur blades are among the worst in all of shaving. Complete garbage. The Gillette platinum is an elite blade.

Does Gillette make any blades in the US?

No. Most Gillette safety razor blades are made in Russia (Gillette Platinum, Perma Sharp, Silver Blue, Nacet, etc.)

Are these still in production? So many cartridge blades from Gillette now?
