Levi's Men's 517 Bootcut Jeans

I have lived in 501's since the early 70's. Comfortable! back then, Levis came out with a flared bottom, but was not bell bottoms, but were wider than 501's. they were not todays 517's. They were skinnier or tighter at the knees, and wider at the bottom,but that was the fashion back then. I love 501's. My 'thing' with them was the bottom opening was always so small. ok for tennis shoes, but for wearing boots, they were too small around the ankle, making the entire boot look too long. simply because they were so narrow, the could not go down any lower on the boot. hahaha I love to wear black biker boots, with a taller 2' heel for easier shifting thru gears. these 517's are wider at the bottom, so the jean bottom rides lower on the boot, only exposing the very top of my round boots, so it looks sexy for a guy. I have had a lot of compliments from mostly women. they seem to like that look for themselves, most people like a smaller foot / shoe profile. The 517's fit the hips, and butt better too. My 501's always make my butt look flat, these give it a little better shape. I work out, and do leg squats, so my butt is not flat! I wear the boots and jeans to work on our 'lax day' Friday. Monday thru Thursday, its business casual, at least for us in the office. This last Friday, I was walking thru the front door, and some guys were kidding me " wheres the guitar?" " you look and dress like a rock star!" hahaha I love my lighter blue 517's! the combination of the lighter blue jean, with black leather boots looks tough, manly, and sexy. I still love the 501's, for pure comfort, but these 517's are in a league of their own. Thanks to Amazon, the price is great! OH- size is different! !!!! my 501's are 34x34. I had to exchange 517's until I found the correct fit due fitting higher on the hip, and longer at the legs. my 517's are 36x32. sounds weird, but a few guys I ride with, who also have 517's say the same thing. one size UP (waist)and one size DOWN (length) from a 501.

Great jeans, but my husband doesn’t like boot cut because to him, they were like bell bottoms. He prefers straight leg. But these jeans are a great quality. And I was able to get a refund regardless.

It’s great that Levi’s produces jeans in inseam and waist in 1” increment. Waist / Length: The 1 inch increment in inseam makes length of the jeans perfect. Making how the jeans falls just perfect for each individual, without the need to fold it, alter it. This is genius @ Levi’s to produce jeans in 1” increments both for waist and inseam; others should follow. If you are 5.7 height, athletic/Avg. built consider 32 waist x 29 length. Fabric : Fabric is good quality, I prefer non stretch classic denim. It’s sturdy, I have seen better fabric from Levi’s though. Fabric will last you approx 2 years as the fabric of Levi’s jeans starts to weather due to friction around the under crotch area around 1 year /1.5 years into use. The fabric is comfortable, pleasant, thickness is medium. Fabric does shrink about an 1”. Color : Lastly it’s unfortunate they charge 20% extra for Black, and Indigo color. Lastly Rigid is not even available in 32x29. Color lightly fades over time. Price: Considering the durability, longevity, quality of fabric the right price point for these jeans is about $40 USD for a pair of jeans, anything above makes it pricey as these are not the jeans that will last you more than 1.5/2 years; and they don’t have the same quality when weathered as vintage jeans which had better fabric. But over all good fit decent I have been wearing these 517 jeans for now over 5/6 years replacing them at about 1.5/2 year mark.

Im always concerned about mail order products. I've been burned by fit, color & function issues in the past. These jeans are exactly like the pair I purchased at the local western store. Just cheaper and way more convenient.

I have very large calves so often have to order "boot cut" or other wide leg jeans (relaxed fit is not usually in the leg). These were shipped clean, free of odor and no damage or stains. The jeans fit as to their advertised size, and I have to admit, I was a bit concerned about ordering jeans without trying them on (especially with the leg) first - but was very pleased with these. and the material was not harsh or abrasive - although not as soft was they will be after wearing several times and washed with our home choice fabric softener. All the seams were done well and the zipper was in good quality. Overall very pleased. One note: the upper thigh does not have a large amount of extra space in them, so if you are a extreme body builder and work out your thighs a lot, you might want to go with one of the relaxed fit leg jeans instead. Overall, good buy, and I would order again if I need another pair.

Belle qualité et tissus sympa. Juste un bémol, taille haute. Attention aussi à la longueur car ca taille super bien donc pas nécessaire de prendre 36 quand on fait 34 comme dans d'autres marques

The fabric is thick, but soft at the same time. Fits tight and looks great. Head turning with Levi’ denim jacket. You’re lucky if found matching cap to complete the look. Light brown suede is a must.
