One bag, all the gear, no problems.
Great backpack. This was the only one I found that had top-opening for the camera and some additional storage pockets for other stuff. I prefer top-opening as (a) the camera isn't squashed by anything else, (b) it's not going to drop out if you've forgotten to do the zip up properly and (c) it's easy to get someone else to grab it or stow it when you don't want to take an arm out.Camera area is great. Easily configurable and plenty of velcro tabs to set it up, my only concern will be longevity as some of the stitching on the tabs and arms is a bit hit-or-miss. 'Laptop' area is fine for thin stuff (maps/books/tablets etc..) and the front pocket can carry plenty of bits and pieces. Anything that's not flat generally has to go in the camera section, which might not be your thing, and the side pocket is nice and large enough to carry a drink bottle without it falling out.As other reviewers have pointed out, it's not inherently waterproof, but we didn't have any problems with leakage. All in all, a really good, not overpriced option if you want just one bag for a day out.

A few things to consider...
Its a confortable bag to wear and as the other reviews have stated, its not too big.I can fit my DLSR+Grip and lenses inside perfectly as well as my macbook, however the rain cover when attached, is not great and water will leak down the back (where the cover doesn't go). I was dismayed when i opened my macbook compartment on a rainy day to find a water stain on the inside padding, which was moving its way down toward the laptop. Luckily I was able to get into the dry and get the bag aired out.I would recommend using Grangers or NIKWAX waterproofing around the seams and on the underside of the bag - which is NOT even splashproof (so cyclists, especially, beware if you're riding on wet roads without the cover - or else your gear is really gonna suffer)!Other than that, in my opinion, its an OK bag for the price.

Great top quality bag
Bought this after MUCH research online and in magazines. I am VERY pleased with my purchase.Just now it contains all my DSLR kit.Nikon 5200 with 18 to 55mm Lens attached in the top pouch, a Speedlight 700 Flashkit (in its pouch), Nikon 55 to 300 lens, my Panasonic TZ10 Compact Camera, chargers for both Cameras, all the cables for both plus misc small accessories. It still has room to take more.I particularly like the built in waterproof cover which you can remove and fit as you need. The straps make it very comfortable on, even with a good weight of equipment in it and the quick access top section is ideal for the moment you need the camera quickly.

Just what I was looking for
I was looking for an all-in-one solution for my laptop and photo gear that was also not too big and reasonably priced. I think I found it. It fits my 13.3 laptop (its own sleeve included), DSLR plus 3 lenses and related accessories, it's smaller than my old computer-only backpack, lightweight but well padded. I can't say anything about its durability yet since I just had it for a day. However materials and build quality look fine but of course only time will really tell. The bag has 3 main compartments plus other 4 pockets/sleeves.The 3 main compartments are:1) Laptop compartment: up to 14 inches shouldn't have any problem to fit in (my 13.3 fits perfectly without taking it out of its sleeve).2) Photo gear compartment: it's really big and easy to customize. I can see it being able to hold a couple of bodies and 3 lenses of various sizes. Right now mine fits an old Canon 350D with its kit lens attached, a Canon 70-200, a Canon 60 and the laptop charger and there's room to spare. There are also two roomy sleeves for cables and accessories.3) Front accessories compartment: it's tight, ideal for pens, phone, discs, memory cards, nothing too bulky. Easy to organize. The other compartments:1) A front sleeve big enough for a 3rd generation kindle still inside its own neoprene sleeve.2) A back pocket, near the bottom, where the weather hood is stored.3) A side pocket that's part of the system to attach a tripod or monopod. It's perfect for a monopod, I don't know if a tripod would fit though. Mine (a Manfrotto 728b, so not a particularly big or bulky one) doesn't.4) Another side pocket (not zipped) that could hold a bottle of water. The main compartments are well padded and the backpack sits comfortably on my back with everything in it. As I said materials and build quality seems fine, we'll see after a summer of use.

I think this bag is almost perfect
i have this bag with me know, the nice thing is that in comparision with more recent models, this bag allows you to have a canon mark III and the 70-200 assembled with no need to have it non mounted.besides that has lot of pocketsmaybe the restriction would be the space for the tripod, you must get a monopod or a very small and light tripod as the space is not too bigcheers
