Q: How often do the cloth mantles need replaced?

When they appear to be damaged. Always keep replacements on hand.

Q: Does the fact that the top (hat) won't meet the glass globe bother anyone else? I've never seen this on any lantern before. Am I missing something?

My glass ended up breaking and when I contacted Coleman they blamed me and wouldn't replace. I will never go back to Coleman. Would advise anyone else to think twice before your purchase.

Q: Does this propane latern use the same mantles as their liquid fuel lanterns? I hope so 'cuz I have a bunch of those. Thanks!

I have used them successfully on my propane lantern as well as my white gas lantern.

Q: Can this be used indoors?

Propane, when burned, produces carbon monoxide(CO). Which in non ventilated spaces can cause carbon monoxide poisioning. . This should be stated in the instructions and probably on the box. If used indoors for light it should be used in areas of good ventilation. Do not use this in enclosed spaces. CO poisoning leads to death. CO posioning stops the blood from absorbing oxygen. This is from Coleman webpage: Your Coleman® stove and lantern using liquid fuel or propane are designed for outdoor use only. All fuel appliances (Stoves and Lanterns) should be used outdoors in well-ventilated areas clear of combustible materials due to the danger of fire and the emission of carbon monoxide (CO) from burning fuel and the effects of carbon monoxide exposure.
