4 Sizes Heavy Duty Nut Splitter Broken Damaged Screw Nut Removal Splitting Tools

I haven’t used these yet. But I did discover something that I think some of the other reviewers might have over looked. There is an Allen set screw in the side of the tool and a guide in the splitter that if you screw it in it will keep the splitter from turning. A couple of the sizes were screwed in enough to keep the splitter from turning but the size that I first looked at did turn and I noticed the set screw and set the the splitter and now it doesn’t turn. Just heads up.

Only used 1 so far but did the job so 4 stars for that.

Kit is complete and organized in its box. One out of the three splitters has a problem. I sent my first one I ordered back because of this. The second one has the same issue so that’s why 4 stars. The wedge that presses against the nut spins . It is not supposed too . Might try to fix it with a roll pin. Hope this helps someone.

As the title says the one size nutsplitter I needed was faulty. The internal adjustable tightening mechanism is loose and does not stay in place like the other 3 so it slips as soon as it starts to compress on the nut. All I was able to do is mangle the nut. Ended up having to use my metal grinder and throw sparks on the underside of my vehicle, so I’m glad my gas tank did not catch on fire. Bought set because I thought others may come in handy but since it doesn’t even accomplish the goal I intended for it it’s essentially a waste of $30+. Too late for return, going in the trash. Do not recommend

Good value for the money. When using the tool it's really important to stabilize the body of the nut splitter with an appropriately sized crescent wrench. This will allow you to use equal opposing force to drive the blade into the nut without the twisting or shearing action that will break the set pin. See photo. Works like a champ every time.

Cutter pin not strong keeps moving and or breaking

These weren’t able to break my exhaust bolts fully.There is a set screw used to keep the chisel part from rotating inside the tool, which broke after its first use. I’m not using a powerful impact, just a ryobi 18v cordless one on the second setting. This thing mangled itself out of shape instantly. Because the set screw was broken, the chisel rotates as it eats into the nut, causing the nut to just mangle, and wouldn’t eat away At the flanged part of the nut, no matter how I tried.Giving it 3 stars bc for all 4 you get good value, but the tools are mid quality at best and couldn’t hold up to the rusty northwast exhaust nuts. I managed to finish the job by buying a chisel and mallet.
